Newt Gingrich: America's Independence Day is celebrated around the world

Just before or after every Fourth of July, American embassies around the world share our national celebration of independence with local communities.
I attended a Fourth of July celebration in Moscow a number of years ago and I was pleasantly surprised at how many Russians had come to congratulate us on our national holiday.
The U.S. Embassy to the Holy See (the Vatican) celebrates its party on July 3. As the husband of the U.S. ambassador to the Holy See, I had the opportunity to co-host a Fourth of July celebration Tuesday.
