Do Young People Understand the Democratic Socialists of America?
Communism/socialism is the worst model ever devised to deliver the least amount of benefits to the populace.

Commentary
Polls show that many young folks in their 20s and 30s favor the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). Some polls estimate that more than 40 percent of folks in that demographic think that socialism, rather than capitalism, is a beneficial system for society.
However, do these young people truly understand what the DSA stands for and what their policies would do to society?Have they studied the history of socialism around the globe?
Many DSA candidates appear to be tone deaf regarding the socialist model and its repercussions in scores of countries.
Do young people understand that socialism is one small step away from communism, wherein every aspect of one’s life is monitored, and the government controls the means of production?
Do they understand that the first values to be curtailed are freedom of religion and speech?

A major U.S. auto industry group is urging lawmakers to enact a lasting prohibition on Chinese vehicles.
Alliance for Automotive Innovation President John Bozzella told members of Congress Monday that the United States must shield its market from a surge of Chinese imports that pose surveillance threats and undercut domestic manufacturers with longstanding investments in American communities.
The Alliance for Automotive Innovation represents General Motors, Toyota, Volkswagen, and other major automakers.
“Given the obvious national security risk and China’s pattern of unfair behavior, Congress should protect our defense and advanced manufacturing base and stop Chinese automakers from doing here what they’ve gotten away with in Europe,” Bozzella said.
In the first eight months of 2026, the European Union imported more than 1.1 million vehicles from China, which is more than all of 2025, he said.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with his Venezuelan counterpart in Washington on Monday as the Trump administration has stepped up efforts to press the interim government and opposition groups to make quick progress on preparations for elections that could be held next year.
Rubio held talks with Foreign Minister Oliver Blanco at the State Department just two weeks after Venezuelan authorities and opposition figures agreed on a blueprint to reform the country's electoral process to allow for free and fair elections to take place at some point in 2027. Neither man spoke as they posed for photographs ahead of their meeting.
In his last significant comments about Venezuela, Rubio said last week that the Trump administration, which ousted then-President Nicolas Maduro in a January military operation, would be watching events closely and urging all sides to comply with the new process. He said the goal is to help put in place a sustainable election architecture that will give all parties confidence in the vote.

Beijing suffered a major blow in the Balkans after an election in Serbia, its closest regional partner, handed former President Aleksandar Vucic a decisive defeat in the Oct. 25 parliamentary ballot.
The result undermined the personal political ties Beijing relied on and exposed Chinese investments there to tougher scrutiny, analysts said.
After the election, thousands of Serbian students and supporters gathered on Nov. 1 to mark the second anniversary of the Chinese-built train station disaster in Novi Sad, Serbia’s second-largest city.
The station had been renovated as part of China’s flagship Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) project in Europe just months before its concrete canopy collapsed in 2024, killing 16 people.

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin told Newsmax on Friday that more than 300,000 noncitizens have been flagged on state voter rolls, up from 250,000 in July, though he cannot yet say how many voted.
"We can get access to the information. And that's how we found the 250,000. That number is actually pushed north of 300,000," Mullin said on "Carl Higbie FRONTLINE."
He said the department is working with the Justice Department and checking names against U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services records, adding, "We can tell if they're registered to vote, if they're legally in this country or not."

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has announced additional arrests of foreign nationals accused of illegally voting in American elections, expanding President Donald Trump's nationwide crackdown on voter fraud ahead of Tuesday's midterm elections.
The latest cases involve noncitizens accused of casting ballots in federal, state and local elections, including some legal permanent residents and others living in the country illegally, according to ICE.
Among those identified is Jesus Lopez, a Mexican national and green card holder accused of illegally voting in 15 elections between 2000 and 2024, including state, primary and municipal contests, Breitbart News reported Monday.

ICE Arrests More Noncitizens Accused of Illegal Voting

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has announced additional arrests of foreign nationals accused of illegally voting in American elections, expanding President Donald Trump's nationwide crackdown on voter fraud ahead of Tuesday's midterm elections.
The latest cases involve noncitizens accused of casting ballots in federal, state and local elections, including some legal permanent residents and others living in the country illegally, according to ICE.
Among those identified is Jesus Lopez, a Mexican national and green card holder accused of illegally voting in 15 elections between 2000 and 2024, including state, primary and municipal contests, Breitbart News reported Monday.

Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Pa., told Newsmax on Monday that he is "optimistically confident" Republicans will retain their House majority in Tuesday's midterms, predicting the GOP could sweep four competitive congressional districts in Pennsylvania.
"Look, I like our chances. I mean, it's going to be close," Meuser said on "Bianca Across the Nation."
"We think we can go four for four in our battleground districts here in Pennsylvania. We truly do. We've got great candidates. They have terrible candidates."
Republicans are fighting to maintain control of the narrowly divided House, with Pennsylvania among the states expected to play a significant role in determining which party holds the majority when the new Congress convenes in January.
Meuser, who represents Pennsylvania's 9th Congressional District, said he believes voters will ultimately favor Republican candidates.
"And I think the dirt, as I've been saying, eventually comes out in the wash," he said. "People are going to be informed heading into tomorrow. And I think we're going to pull it out. I'm very optimistically confident."
