Sen. Tim Scott to Newsmax: Let's Get It Done Today and Shock the Polls

Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., predicted Tuesday that Republicans will defy election forecasts and retain control of the Senate, telling Newsmax that strong GOP turnout and President Donald Trump's aggressive campaigning will deliver victories in key battleground states.
"I'm really excited about where we are," Scott, chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said on Newsmax's "Wake Up America."
"We hold the majority of Republican voters. That's all we need to do. We don't need a special group of Democrats or independents coming our way. We'll take them, of course, because I believe there are some independent Democrats who believe in common sense versus the crazy and the communists that we're seeing on the far left."
Asked about a Decision Desk HQ forecast giving Democrats a 65% chance of flipping the Senate, Scott dismissed the projections and urged Republicans to turn out.
"Today is about voting. You should vote, I should vote. Take your ugly cousins to vote. This election is too important to sit out," Scott said.
"If Republicans and independents come together, we win across the map. We maintain the majority. And once again, I am positive, unequivocally in support of us maintaining our majority.And I believe that we will maintain our majority."
Scott credited Trump with mounting an unprecedented final campaign push.
"President Trump's closing argument could not be more clear. America is on the ballot. His agenda is on the ballot. And frankly, his legacy is on the ballot," Scott said.
"That's why we've seen the most aggressive president in modern history — 30 rallies in less than 30 days, helping over 100 candidates," he said.
"Republicans, hear me loud and clear. Let's get it done today and shock the polls because polls don't vote. People vote. And Republicans are voting."
