Japan’s ruling coalition performed better than expected in Sunday’s election, retaining its two-thirds majority in the lower house of the Diet. That gives Prime Minister Shinzo Abe a fighting chance to amend Japan’s pacifist constitution by his target date of 2020. For that he can thank some unlikely allies: China’s supreme leader Xi Jinping and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un.

A lawyer for a confidential FBI informant said Tuesday FBI officials told him that information about a Russian nuclear bribery scheme he was helping to uncover had reached the highest levels of government—that former President Barack Obama and other senior officials had been briefed on the illegal influence-peddling.
At least one of those presidential briefings occurred before the Obama administration's approval of a Russian takeover of a large U.S. uranium mine in the fall of 2010, the lawyer said FBI officials told her client.
The deal gave the Kremlin control of up to 20 percent of U.S. uranium supply.

Just as key congressional panels open new probes into the still-smoking debris of last year’s election, the revelation that Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee paid as much as $9 million for the discredited Russian dossier on Donald Trump flips the collusion script on its head.
Now it’s Democrats’ turn in the barrel.
The explosive report in the Washington Post goes a long way to explaining how the dossier was so widely spread among political reporters during the election. The Clinton camp must have passed it out like Halloween candy to its media handmaidens.

In short, we now have compelling evidence that the dossier was the largest and dirtiest dirty trick of the 2016 campaign. And Clinton, who has played the victim card ever since her loss, was behind it the whole time.

The US Air Force, in the face of rising tensions with North Korea, will deploy a dozen F-35A Lightning stealth fighters to Japan next month.
It marks the US Pacific Command’s first operational tasking for the aircraft in the theater.
The Air Force says about 300 airmen and 12 F-35A Lightning IIs from Utah’s 34th Fighter Squadron will deploy to Kadena Air Base, Japan for a six-month rotation. The aircraft and its supporting personnel are scheduled to arrive at Kadena air base in early November.

The controversial dossier containing salacious allegations about President Donald Trump and his possible connections to Russia, including coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin, resulted from funding by Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee to the firm Fusion GPS, a source familiar with the situation confirmed to Fox News.
Fusion GPS was retained by Marc E. Elias, an attorney representing the DNC and the Clinton campaign, The Washington Post first reported Tuesday. Fusion GPS then reportedly hired former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele to write the now-infamous dossier.
Steele, a former British intelligence officer, had ties both to the U.S. intelligence community and the FBI.

The Supreme Court handed President Trump a victory Tuesday when it tossed out the remaining case challenging his travel ban.
The court issued an order dismissing the lawsuit brought by the state of Hawaii challenging the 90-day travel ban on nationals from six majority-Muslim countries and the 120-day halt on the U.S. refugee resettlement program, claiming the case is now moot.

LONDON — A British parliamentary committee has written to Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg asking for information on any paid-for activity by Russian-linked Facebook accounts around the 2016 EU referendum and the 2017 UK election.
The request was made by Damian Collins, chair of Parliament’s Digital, Media and Sport Committee as part of its effort to gather evidence for an inquiry it is conducting into fake news.
“Part of this inquiry will focus on the role of foreign actors abusing platforms such as yours to interfere in the political discourse of other nations,” Collins wrote in a letter to Zuckerberg circulated to media by the committee.

According to a report, special counsel Mueller is investigating Tony Podesta and his lobbying firm.
When it comes to Russia, it is clear that Democrats and their allies in the mainstream media have been flat out lying to the American people about what is really happening.
It was always just a matter of time before their manufactured hysteria and conspiracy theories blew up in their faces and boomeranged back on the Democrats and the media. Well, it is happening now.
None other than NBC News signaled the sea change with a bombshell report that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is now investigating Democratic lobbyist Tony Podesta. If that name sounds familiar, it is because he happens to be the brother of Hillary Clinton's former campaign chairman, John Podesta.

Lefty cheers for Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in US politics may soon fade now that he’s reportedly looking into a top Democratic lobbyist.
NBC reports that Tony Podesta (the brother of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, John Podesta) and his firm are the subjects of a criminal investigation by the special prosecutor.
And this comes amid new reports that the FBI gathered evidence for two years as Russian agents — including a major sleeper cell — worked to gain access to then-Secretary of State Clinton, husband Bill and members of their inner circle.

All this, of course, follows reports the Obama administration knew Russia was engaged in a campaign of bribery and extortion — yet allowed a deal to go through giving Moscow control of one-fifth of America’s uranium.
Yes, there’s something to investigate here. But it goes way beyond Donald Trump.
