188 Dead, 135 Missing After Typhoon Kalmaegi Slams Philippines

At least 188 people are dead in the Philippines after Typhoon Kalmaegi, locally known as Tino, slammed the nation to impact around 2,411,000 residents, rolling through Mindanao and the Visayas, according to a statement Friday from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
The majority of the deaths were out of Cebu and the region of Negros Island, per the NDRRMC’s most recent situational report via The Manila Times.
