Majority support Trump’s anti-crime takeover of DC

The nation backs President Donald Trump’s anti-crime crackdown in Washington, D.C., and believes that it will reduce violent crime in the capital city, which will host America’s 250th birthday next year. 

While controversial in Washington, where Trump’s actions have been met with protests and praise, 53% of likely voters told Rasmussen Reports that they support the president’s decision to have National Guard and federal officers help local police curb crime.

And half, by a 50%–45% margin, believe that the president’s action will reduce violent crime. 

Overall, America’s voters are concerned about crime despite claims by Democrats that it’s not a big problem.
