Judge Allows Congress to Subpoena Ex-Prosecutor in Manhattan DA's Trump Case

A federal judge will let House Republicans question a former Manhattan prosecutor about the criminal case against former President Donald Trump, ruling Wednesday that there is no legal basis to block the Judiciary Committee's subpoena.

U.S. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil rejected Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's request for a temporary restraining order, finding that committee chair Rep. Jim Jordan, an Ohio Republican, had a valid legislative purpose in issuing the subpoena to former prosecutor Mark Pomerantz.

The DA quickly filed for a delay in the testimony until an appeal of Wednesday's ruling could be heard, according to wire reports.
