WASHINGTON—President Trump denounced House Democrats on the eve of the planned impeachment vote, calling efforts to remove him from office an abuse of power that amounted to an “illegal partisan coup.”
In a public letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.), Mr. Trump said he was writing to express his “strongest and most powerful protest” against the impeachment effort.
