Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore is no fan of President Trump but admits the Republican had one thing right during the 2016 election.
"The people that came out for Trump — I’m not talking about the racist, white supremacist part. I'm talking about those people who are sick and tired of the system. Trump told them it was rigged. It was rigged. And he was right when he said that," Moore said during an appearance Wednesday on MSNBC.
Moore said Trump won in 2016 because voters could relate to his message about how the political system, economy, and media were "rigged" against them.

This month’s huge document dump has exposed the truth about China’s concentration camps in Xinjiang province.
Official government documents (all online thanks to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists) expose the prison-like conditions: guard posts, “perfect peripheral isolation” and “internal separation,” as well as constant monitoring of prisoners, even during “class, eating periods, toilet breaks, bath time, medical treatment, family visits, etc.”
Guards are ordered to “never allow escapes, never allow trouble.”

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the stabbing rampage in London that left two dead and three seriously injured.
The terrorist organization said through its Amaq news agency that Usman Khan, 28, a convicted terrorist out on Britain’s equivalent of parole, had acted Friday on its behalf.

Hoover Institution senior fellow Victor Davis Hanson accused Democrats on Friday of trying to impeach President Trump over "thought crimes," saying the president did nothing illegal.
"If I want to think about speeding 80 miles an hour and I talk about thinking about it but I actually don't, I'm not guilty of anything other than harboring a bad thought," Hanson said on "The Story." "So Trump may or may not, we don't really know, the evidence suggests he didn't think about delaying aid and that aid was delayed, but it wasn't cut off. Maybe [Trump] thought about cutting it off. But that's not a crime."

A terrorist in a fake suicide vest has been shot dead by police and two members of the public have been killed with at least 10 injured after a terror attack at London Bridge.
London’s Metropolitan Police said they were called to a stabbing near London Bridge at 1:58pm on Friday afternoon.
Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu confirmed a male suspect was shot by an officer during the incident and he died at the scene. Another man has been detained by police.
“A number of other people received injuries at this incident,” he said, however he did not confirm how many. Media reports state two members of the public have been killed with at least 10 injured.
All the casualties were taken to the Royal London hospital in Whitechapel, one of London’s four designated major trauma centres, The Guardian reports.

Last week the anonymous administration official released his book-length diatribe in defense of the Deep State.
There is nothing honorable about this anonymous author. It would be honorable to serve and carry out the agenda of the president. It would be honorable to resign on principle rather than serve an agenda he disagrees with. He does neither, making him both a coward, and a traitor.
The comedy of this coward is that he thinks his stories are newsworthy, when in fact his disclosures have mostly been duds. Sadly, we work with him. We know he is real. We watch him block the President’s agenda, and we fight bureaucratic scum like him every day.

Pro-democracy protesters held a Thanksgiving Day rally to thank the United States and President Trump for signing bills into law on Wednesday that support the demonstrators in their struggle against Beijing.
The bipartisan bills signed by the president impose sanctions on officials in Hong Kong and China that are responsible for human rights abuses. The bills also require an annual review of the special autonomous status the U.S. State Department grants to Hong Kong during trade considerations. The revocation of that status is a powerful tool to incentivize support of pro-democracy groups in Hong Kong. The legislation also bans the sale of crowd control munitions to Hong Kong that have been used by police against the protesters.

As families gather for Thanksgiving in our polarized era, there’s no shortage of advice about how to cope with the crazy Trump-lover in your family.
“Your angry uncle wants to talk about impeachment. What do you do?” go the headlines.
“There’s nothing like a constitutional crisis to spice up the holidays.”
Of course, the abhorrent relative in these scenarios is always a conservative but, for the sake of argument, not to mention reality, let’s say it equally could be a progressive.
It might be your newly politically correct college kid home for Thanksgiving break from Ohio who has decided it’s her moral duty to re-educate the family.

President Trump on Thursday took a surprise trip to Afghanistan to visit U.S. military troops stationed at Bagram Air Field on Thanksgiving.
The trip was kept a secret for security purposes.
Trump, White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham, acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien, White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere and Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wy., traveled with the president on a 13-hour overnight trip on Air Force One from Joint Base Andrews in Maryland to Afghanistan on Wednesday.
The president arrived in Afghanistan just in time to serve troops Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. Standing alongside Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley, he dished out turkey to roughly two dozen troops at a dining facility decorated with red, orange and yellow Thanksgiving banners and tablecloths. Mulvaney, Barrasso, and O’Brien were also behind the counter.
"There's nowhere I'd rather spend Thanksgiving than with the toughest, fiercest warriors," Trump said. "I'm here to say Happy Thanksgiving and thank you very much. As president of the United States, I have no higher honor than serving as commander-in-chief."
He added: "We will continue to work tirelessly for the day when all of you can go home to your families, and that day is coming very soon."

“It’s a dangerous area and he wants to support the troops,” Grisham said. “He and Mrs. Trump recognize that there is a lot of people who are away from their families during the holidays and we thought it would be a nice surprise.”

President Trump signs Hong Kong bill.
President Trump on Wednesday signed the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act after it was passed by the Senate and House earlier this month.
Trump’s signature comes as Hong Kong continues to be gripped by turmoil amid widespread discontent over Chinese rule in the special administrative region. Chinese officials had hoped Trump would veto the bill and the president had expressed some concerns about complicating the effort to work out a trade deal with China's President Xi Jinping.

In Ernest Hemingway’s novel “The Sun Also Rises,” there is a memorable exchange between two characters:
“How did you go bankrupt?” Bill asks. “Two ways,” Mike responds. “Gradually and then suddenly.”
As we know, the pattern of “gradually then suddenly” is not limited to bankruptcy. It can be applied to everything from expanding waistlines to the breakup of nations. Similarly, it is clear that many current problems in America reflect decades of eroding educational and moral standards.
Consider changing views toward Christopher Columbus and George Washington.
Once universally celebrated as heroes, they are now reviled in some quarters. The move to take down statues or, in Washington’s case, paint over a 1936 mural, strike me as evidence that many schools failed to teach history and instill a sense of patriotism in their students. We are reaping a bitter harvest decades in the making.
Another example is the collapse of the New York Times.

As the Democrat-led impeachment inquiry into President Trump deepens, a spotlight has been cast on Hunter Biden ventures abroad not only in Ukraine but in China, where he set about investing while his dad served as vice president.
The questions come as Republicans are demanding that Hunter Biden – the 49-year-old son of Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden – appear before Congress to testify on his work.
For almost six years, the firm connected to Hunter Biden in China has moved more than $2.5 billion into various automotive, technology, energy, and mining endeavors.
Analysts point to the plethora of “ethical challenges” of Hunter doing such deals in China while his father was in the White House.
“At a time when the Obama administration was trying to pivot to Asia, a policy that ultimately fell flat, one has to at least stop and think what connections between policy and personal interests were there,” said Harry Kazianis, senior director for the Center for the National Interest. “While chances are Hunter Biden was doing what a lot of family members of famous politicians do – cash in on their name – it looks dirty.”
Biden served as one of nine directors of the private equity firm Bohai Harvest RST – better known as BHR Partners – which is 80 percent mandated by shareholders in the Chinese government, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Nonetheless, the dealings point to a larger picture of power abuse, ethics and the known Chinese strategy of using big-wig names to further a monetary agenda.
“The job of those high-profile individuals is mostly to lend credibility and prestige to the company and to utilize their connections,” Luft added. “Corporate America invented this practice, and now China mimics it.”

Bloomberg’s prez run hopelessly compromises his media company

In a modern spin on feudalism, the entire editorial board of Bloomberg News is taking a leave of absence … and joining the boss’ presidential campaign. But that only dodges the least of the ethical issues here.
Michael Bloomberg isn’t selling his company as he runs for president, just stepping away — while his handpicked managers will continue to run it. What happens if he actually wins the Democratic nomination? And what if he then beats President Trump next November?
Trump stepped aside from his own real-estate company after he rode down that escalator to launch his White House bid, and the Trump Organization has essentially suspended new business, especially overseas, while he’s in office. Yet his critics still make endless noises about the Emoluments Clause.
But Bloomberg’s conflicts of interest are huge even while it’s still just primary season.

Then, too, Bloomberg News — and the company’s incredibly lucrative leasing of its trademark terminals and financial services — can be targeted. Does the candidate-owner dare say what he really thinks about, the Hong Kong protests?
Heck, Beijing at least as far back as 2013 intimidated Bloomberg News into killing stories that offended the Communist Party elite — a policy the big boss had to have at least signed off on. It’s easy to see that censorship growing still worse now.
When we urged Michael Bloomberg to enter the race so he can help drag the Democratic Party back to the center, we assumed he’d figured out a real plan for handling these issues. Judging by the announcements so far, we were wrong.

Former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter should be investigated for their Ukrainian ties because Congress and the media have failed to look into the matter, opting to endlessly investigate President Trump instead, said Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. told Fox News Radio, Monday.
"I do like Joe Biden... I think he's a very decent fella. He's had a lot of tragedy in his life," Graham said on "The Brian Kilmeade Show." "But I'm not going to create a country where only Republicans get investigated. There's a lot of corruption in the Ukraine. They're an important ally. I thought [Robert] Mueller would end this, but Adam Schiff has created a process in the House that's un-American, dangerous to the presidency, and we're going to ask questions of Hunter Biden's role in getting the prosecutor fired.
"He served on a company, Burisma, as a board member. He received $50,000 a month, for what -- I don't know," he continued. "After the investigation of the company was opened by the prosecutor general's office in the Ukraine -- Hunter Biden called his friends in the State Department. Joe Biden called the president of the Ukraine... three times in ten days."
Graham said lawmakers need to start digging to find out if Hunter Biden exerted his political influence to benefit him legally and financially.
"The prosecutor was fired. I want to know the transcripts of the phone call between the vice president and the president of Ukraine," he said. "I want to know what Hunter Biden was doing talking to the State Department."

China has demanded that President Trump veto the Hong Kong Human Rights bill which was overwhelmingly approved by Congress.
Anti-government protestors prevailed on Sunday after polls closed in Hong Kong and pro-democracy candidates clinched nearly half of the seats on the ballot.
So far, pro-democracy candidates have won 269 out of 452 seats in 18 district council races, while pro-Beijing forces, who previously held 73 percent of the seats, have only won 30. Voters came out in droves -- with a 71 percent turnout -- up from 47 percent four years ago in the same elections, according to the Electoral Affairs Commission.
"This is political annihilation for Beijing and it's going to have consequences that are going to reverberate not just in Hong Kong itself, but perhaps in China as well," Asia analyst and foreign affairs journalist Gordon Chang said on Fox News' "America's News HQ" Sunday.

Pro-democracy candidates in Hong Kong have taken a significant early lead in district council elections after residents turned out in record numbers to vote following six months of anti-government protests.
The elections are seen as a test of support for the city’s pro-Beijing chief executive, Carrie Lam, who has faced intense pressure during months of unrest in the Chinese-ruled city.
Initial results from the voting, which ended with no major disruptions, began to trickle in after midnight on Sunday and signalled major gains for the pro-democracy camp.
As of about 7am (10am AEDT), pro-democracy candidates had won at least 278 seats compared with about 42 seats for the pro-establishment camp, according to local media estimates.
A record 1104 candidates were vying for 452 seats.

In a stunning rebuke to Beijing, voters in Hong Kong elected pro-democracy parties into power on Sunday. Every one of the 452 elected seats on Hong Kong's district council was up for grabs.
Before Sunday's election, pro-Beijing parties held three-quarters of the district council seats, but pro-democracy groups have so far managed to capture 240 of them, up from the 124 they held previously. The pro-Beijing camp has so far only managed to win 28 confirmed seats in Sunday's elections.

The district council races are local, community-related offices. But given the widespread unrest by protestors calling for greater democracy for Hong Kong, the election is seen as a referendum on Hong Kong's relationship with Beijing.
