Top U.S. Diplomat Holds Out Promise of Economic ‘Prosperity’ for North Korea
Talks with North Korean leader have been ‘complex,’ Secretary of State Pompeo says

WASHINGTON—Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday promised to help North Korea achieve economic prosperity if it eliminates its nuclear-weapons program, describing his recent conversations with leader Kim Jong Un in Pyongyang as warm and “complex.”
Mr. Pompeo returned from North Korea this week after securing the release of three American detainees, who had been detained for over a year, arriving early on Thursday morning to be greeted by President Donald Trump and many TV cameras.
