Trump Signs $70 Billion Bill to Fund ICE, Border Patrol for 3 Years

Trump’s signature brings to a close a 116-day dispute over immigration funding.

President Donald Trump signed a $72 billion bill on June 10 to fund Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Border Patrol.

The measure, known as the Secure America Act, funds ICE and the Border Patrol through Jan. 20, 2029, which will be the end of Trump’s term.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump praised the measure and criticized Democrats for opposing it.

“We’ll give the heroes of ICE and Border Patrol—and that’s what they are ... the support and resources they need to defend our borders, protect our homeland, and to keep America safe,” he said.
