Army’s 250th Birthday Parade Kicks Off 

Thousands of soldiers and dozens of tanks are taking part in the parade, which will end with a concert on the National Mall.

NTD, The Epoch Times’s sister media outlet, is broadcasting live special coverage of the Army’s 250th Anniversary parade from 5:30 p.m. ET. 


WASHINGTON—A parade celebrating the U.S. Army’s 250th Anniversary has begun in Washington after President Donald Trump’s arrival. 

Around 6:07 p.m., Trump and First Lady Melania Trump walked onstage to a 21-gun salute as “Hail to the Chief” played. It’s also the president’s 79th birthday. The parade started early, given the severe weather forecast for later this evening. 

Thousands of spectators have lined the National Mall to see U.S. Army soldiers, tanks, and other military vehicles parade through in celebration of 250 years of service. 

The festivities began as tens of thousands of people have been rallying in other cities across the country in “No Kings” protests against the Trump administration’s policies. 

About 6,600 U.S. Army soldiers are marching through the streets of the nation’s capital. They’re wearing uniforms and present equipment reflecting the distinct conflicts and periods of the Army’s history, starting with the Revolutionary War and including World War II, Vietnam, and continuing up to the present day.
