EXCLUSIVE: Republicans Introduce Legislation To Reaffirm The House’s Commitment To Ensuring Secure Elections

Republican Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs introduced legislation Monday that would reaffirm the House’s commitment to ensuring secure elections and recognizes that requiring photo ID is necessary to make sure that only U.S. citizens are allowed to vote.
The Daily Caller first obtained a copy of the bill, which comes as illegal immigration continues to surge throughout the country. The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) also announced Thursday that an illegal immigrant reached an agreement to plead guilty to charges of stealing a U.S. citizen’s identity to vote in multiple elections. The DOJ also charged the illegal immigrant with fraudulently obtaining an American passport.

“The radical Biden-Harris regime’s open borders have allowed millions of illegal aliens to pour into our country. We must show the American people that we are committed to ensuring that only American citizens can vote in American elections,” he continued. “Requiring a photo ID to vote is a simple way to bolster the security of our elections. A photo ID is required to operate a motor vehicle, to purchase alcohol or tobacco, and to apply for welfare — it’s not too much to ask that individuals be required to show their ID to vote.”
