Rep. Comer to Newsmax: More Coming on Biden Money Trail

By Sandy Fitzgerald | Thursday, 26 October 2023 10:24 AM EDT

The House Oversight Committee has "hard evidence" against President Joe Biden and members of his family, and now has concrete questions to ask them when they're brought in to testify, Rep. James Comer, the committee's chair, told Newsmax on Thursday.

"I think you're going to see very soon that they start coming in, and thankfully, we've done this the right way," the Kentucky Republican said on Newsmax's "
Wake Up America," adding that he's already spoken with new House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and "he's very excited" about the investigation.

When asked why Biden's brother, James, and other members of the family haven't been brought in, Comer said that the case has been building against them.

"If we hadn't subpoenaed those bank records, we wouldn't have been able to ask [James Biden] about the $200,000 check to Joe Biden," Comer said, referring to bank records showing
James and Sara Biden paid Joe Biden $200,000 in the form of a personal check in March 2018, with the check memo referring to a loan repayment.

"The more information we subpoena and obtain, the more questions we're going to be able to ask him," Comer said. "Nine months ago, if we had brought them in, they would have said the [Hunter Biden] laptop was Russian disinformation. They would have said none of the money ever happened while Joe Biden was vice president."

But now, "all the things that we've learned through this investigation, we're able to ask him now," said Comer. "We have Jim Biden's personal bank records that were accumulating a list of purchases that look awful suspicious … but, so now, we're able to ask them specific questions. Look, we could have brought him in and got a bunch of retweets. We could have brought him in already for therapy for people."

But in the beginning, "no one thought we would ever get any bank records, much less their personal bank records," the congressman said. "Now we're trying to trace the money, and I don't think that the average American can understand how much money laundering was taking place here … we have all of this information now, so now we're ready to proceed, and you will see Bidens come in."
