Tucker Carlson warns Trump could be assassinated

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has warned that assassins could target former President Donald Trump to keep him from winning a second White House term.
“We’re speeding toward assassination, obviously,” Mr. Carlson said this week on the Adam Carolla podcast. “No one will say that, but I don’t know how you can’t reach that conclusion.”
Mr. Carlson said that none of the protests, criticisms, name-calling, impeachments, or indictments have worked at thwarting Mr. Trump’s popularity.
A poll conducted mid-August in the critical early-voting state of Iowa showed Mr. Trump‘s favorability rating has significantly improved since 2016, in spite of dozens of criminal charges he is facing in four separate cases.
The poll, conducted by Iowa pollster J. Ann Selzer for NBC News, the Des Moines Register and Mediacom, showed Mr. Trump with a favorability rating of 65%, which was an improvement from 54% in 2016.
Mr. Tucker said that “permanent Washington,” which includes both Republicans and Democrats, have decided that Mr. Trump is “so threatening to them” that they can’t let him take office again.
This isn’t the first time that Mr. Carlson has brought up the idea of assassination. Last week in an interview with the former president that was posted on X, formerly Twitter, on the same night at the first Republican primary debate, Mr. Carlson asked if he was worried about an assassination attempt.
