Former President Donald Trump decried the lack of "takers" for his challenge for a televised debate over the results of the 2020 election.

His comments came in a statement issued through his Save America PAC on Tuesday.

He said: "It’s really interesting, everybody wants me on television, I get the highest ratings by far, they need ratings to survive, and yet I put out a challenge to debate me about the massive election fraud, which took place in the 2020 presidential election, and there are no takers — think of it, zero takers for the so-called 'ratings machine.'

"The reason is, they know they can’t win. All I have to do is lay out the facts — they are irrefutable. I’ve supposedly won all my political debates, but this would be the easiest of them all! Swing state by swing state, they get decimated. This is the Hoax and the Scam and the Crime of the Century. Just remember, no takers."

A federal appeals court panel Tuesday reportedly appeared leery about former President Donald Trump's bid to keep records away from congressional investigators that concern his conversations and actions the day of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

But even if the panel — whose jurists were all appointed by Democrat presidents — rules against Trump, his lawyers said they will seek a 14-day freeze so they can take it right to the conservative-majority Supreme Court, Reuters reported.

Whew, I got my column accepted last week at the Washington Times with no intrusion from the censors. In fact, with no censors! At the Good Times—which you now hold in your hands—there are no censors at work. I used to write this column weekly for the Washington Post, and it could be a harrowing experience. Every week I had to be certain that I had crossed no barriers with the potentates that be. Certain things could not be said. One editor told me that readers around the world thought that the Washington Post was the official voice of our government, and the Post had to be careful. Careful of what, I asked. Could my occasional intemperance lead to war? I doubt it, but these were the kinds of fears that the potentates at the Post lived with. Possibly they still live with them.

I wrote without mishap most of the time, but suddenly, out of the blue, the Post’s censor would strike. I remember one summer, years ago when the Olympics were underway. The Russians and the East Germans were accused of drugging their athletes so that the women were amazons and the men were almost supernatural. As luck would have it, I was writing my column with a former Olympian at my side. We both were indignant about the Communists’ thwarting the Olympic protocols against performance-enhancing drugs. I referred in my column to the drugged-up athletes as the “Soviets’ stallions and geldings.” The column appeared a day or two later, and the “Soviets’ stallions and geldings” had been changed to the “Soviets’ athletes.” Well, at least the censor did not cut the column completely.

... . They used not only the F—k word but practically every other foul word in the book. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand was the most flagrant, using almost a dozen such words in one presentation. Yet there were other foul-mouthed would-be presidents. The women were especially egregious. The wife of Vice President Joe Biden told candidate Kamala Harris to “Go F—k yourself,” and another woman, a congresswoman, was the most extreme. She used a word that she shared with her son. It was mother-something or other.

Dr. Anthony Fauci has been in his position as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for "much too long" and should "just retire" to Florida, which has the lowest COVID-19 case and death numbers in the United States, Sen. Marsha Blackburn said on Newsmax Tuesday.

"He knows the agency he has led has invested U.S. taxpayer money into gain of function research, and now he doesn't want people to be aware of that," the Tennessee Republican said on Newsmax's "Wake Up America," while accusing the doctor of covering up for himself and slamming the politically charged comments Fauci made in a Sunday interview.

Peter Navarro, the former director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy, told Newsmax on Monday that the likelihood that Dr. Anthony Fauci is responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic is ''over the moon.''

''Now we know that Tony Fauci gave them [the Wuhan Institute of Virology] American taxpayer dollars to fund gain-of-function experiments that can turn a harmless bat virus into a human killer,'' Navarro said on ''Eric Bolling: The Balance.''

''The likelihood that the virus that Tony Fauci is making a career on came from Tony Fauci to begin with is over the moon. He did it. He should be held accountable.''

The comments from Navarro come after belief in the theory that the United States funded the Wuhan laboratory in China became widespread several months ago, according to BBC News.

It appears that The New York Times, one of the Democratic Party’s staunchest supporters, is beginning to turn on the party.

Democratic leaders often blame their Republican colleagues for putting the brakes on their progressive agenda. So investigative video-journalist Johnny Harris and Times editorial board economic writer Binyamin Appelbaum teamed up to find out what happens when Democratic power goes unchecked.

They analyzed the nation’s 18 blue states — those where Democrats possess the power of both the legislative and the executive branches of government, "or at least have some veto-proof majority in the legislature," Harris said in the video.

Judge Matthew Schelp of the Eastern District of Missouri issued an injunction halting President Joe Biden's Wuhan coronavirus vaccine mandate for Medicare and Medicaid workers in ten states Monday, citing a lack of approval from Congress.

"The mandate requires nearly every employee, volunteer, and third-party contractor working at fifteen catogires of healthcare facilities to be vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2 (“COVID”) and to have received at least a first dose of the vaccine prior to December 6, 2021," court documents show. "Congress did not grant CMS authority to mandate the vaccine. Plaintiffs are likely to succeed in their argument that Congress has not provided CMS the authority to enact the regulation at issue here."

My commentary last week dealt with the destructive effects of the capital gains tax increase that was part of the House’s Build Back Better (BBB) bill. The facts of my article were accurate, except the capital gains tax increase provision (fortunately) was dropped before the final vote last Friday. I incorrectly assumed that the destructive language was still in the bill but should have waited until the final passage before writing my commentary. The bill now goes to the Senate, where I assume and hope that the offending provisions will not be reinstated.

In the more than two decades I have been writing this weekly economic commentary, I have striven to be accurate, so the readers can rely on what is presented. Frequently, my column contains numerical data, and my assistant double-checks the sources, the data, and my math – and often catches mistakes. The unfortunate fact is that we all make mistakes. Reputable publications like the Wall Street Journal provide readers with corrections, recognizing that inaccuracies still make it into print even with many editors. Presenters in the electronic media tend to be less forthcoming – but even so, many do acknowledge mistakes.

Mistakes are different from biases. Many in the news business are overtly biased, particularly opinion columnists, which is fine, provided the reader or listener is made aware of the bias (I lean towards limited-government libertarianism, as is well known). Problems arise when a news source claims not to be biased but slants stories one way or another or just leaves out relevant facts that do not fit the “agenda.”
