White House Correspondent Iris Tao publicly thanked President Donald Trump after revealing she had been robbed and pistol-whipped outside her apartment in Washington, D.C.

“Mr. President, thank you so much for what you’re doing right now,” Tao said. “Thank you for now making D.C. safer for us, our families, and my baby on the way.”

Her comments come as Trump’s federal crime crackdown continues to show results. As of this month, violent crime in the nation's capital has dropped significantly following Trump’s deployment of federal resources and direct coordination with law enforcement. Repeat offenders are being prosecuted, gang activity is being dismantled, and high-crime areas are seeing a return to order.

OPINION:

As a foreign correspondent roving around Africa years ago, I often met United Nations personnel. Most were pleasant dinner companions.

What they were achieving was usually a mystery.

To understand what I mean, check out the website of the United Nations Development Programme. Look at the sections marked “Our Impact” and “Results.” Let me know if you find any useful missions accomplished.

I came to regard the
United Nations as ineffectual but harmless, with one notable exception: It has long been hostile toward the nation-state that became its 59th member in 1949.

As far back as 1975, the U.N. General Assembly, steered by the Soviet Union, adopted a resolution calling Zionism “a form of racism.”

Daniel Patrick Moynihan, then the U.S. ambassador to the
United Nations, knew that Zionism implies nothing more than supporting the right of Israel not to be annihilated and the right of Israelis not to be exterminated.

He denounced the U.N. General Assembly resolution as “a lie” and an expression of “antisemitism.” Some 16 years later, driven by the end of the Cold War, U.S. diplomatic pressure and the Madrid peace process, the General Assembly repealed it.

Fast-forward to 2001. Just three days before the jihadi terrorist attacks on America, the
United Nations concluded an “anti-racism” conference in Durban, South Africa, where participants held up signs reading “Down with Nazi-Israeli apartheid!” and “Machine-guns based upon FAITH and ISLAM must be used.”

Australia attacks show Iran’s global antisemitic agenda

By Sean Durns
August 26, 2025 4:21 pm

The Islamic Republic of Iran calls for Israel’s destruction, supporting a number of terrorist groups to achieve this objective. Yet the regime’s targets also include Jewish communities across the globe. Recent events in Australia prove as much.

On Tuesday, the Australian government
announced it was expelling Iranian Ambassador Ahmad Sadeghi and three other Iranian diplomats. It’s the first time Canberra has expelled a foreign ambassador since World War II.

China-Linked Hackers Targeted Southeast Asian Diplomats, Google Says

The attack was likely in support of ‘cyber espionage operations aligned with the strategic interests’ of the Chinese regime, according to the tech giant.

A China-linked hacking group targeted diplomats in Southeast Asia and entities across the globe earlier this year, according to Google.

The attack, detected by Google in March, was “likely in support of cyber espionage operations aligned with the strategic interests of the People’s Republic of China (PRC),” Google’s threat intelligence group said in an Aug. 25 blog
post

Hackers employed tactics such as captive portal hijacking to deliver malware disguised as legitimate software or plugin updates, which ultimately allowed them to install a backdoor into their targets’ systems, according to the post.

Google said all Gmail and Workspace users impacted by this hacking campaign had been notified, though the full scope of the victims was not disclosed.

Google linked the campaign to a band of hackers known as UNC6384, who cyber researchers believed are associated with another China-linked cyberespionage group known as TEMP.Hex or Mustang Panda.

“UNC6384 and TEMP.Hex are both observed to target government sectors, primarily in Southeast Asia, in alignment with PRC strategic interests,” the company said in the post.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that his administration will seek to enforce the death penalty for anyone found guilty of killing another person in Washington, D.C., telling members of his Cabinet that "we have no choice."

"That's a very strong preventative," Trump said during the meeting, which was televised on
Newsmax. "Everybody that's heard it agrees with it. I don't know if we're ready for it in this country ... but we have no choice."

He added that "states are going to have to make their own decision," but in D.C., "if somebody kills somebody ... It's the death penalty."

COMMENTARY_ ‘No one is above the law,’ we were told

THE WASHINGTON TIMES

‘No one is above the law,’ we were told

That 'bedrock principle' also applies to Democrats

Above the law illustration by Alexander Hunter/ The Washington Times more >

COMMENTARY

By Kelly Sadler - The Washington Times - Monday, August 25, 2025

OPINION:

“The Mar-a-Lago raid proves the U.S. isn’t a banana republic,” an Atlantic headline read on Aug. 8, 2022. The article continued: “A bedrock principle is that no one — not even the president, much less the former president — is above the law, and if they commit crimes, they must answer for them.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the FBI sweep of former President Donald Trump’s Florida estate, where agents rummaged through former first lady Melania Trump’s underwear drawer, showed that no one in the U.S. is above the law.

“We believe in the rule of law. That is what our country is about,” Mrs. Pelosi said in an interview with NBC’s “Today” show at the time. “And no person is above the law. Not even the president of the United States. Not even a former president of the United States.”

The raid was related to an investigation into Mr. Trump’s potential mishandling of classified documents, even though he had declassification powers as president, and was widely heralded by the corporate media and Democrats as to how a functioning democracy works.

“No one is above the law, and the rule of law in a democracy … has to be our standard,” former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on ABC’s “The View” in September 2022, speaking of the federal investigation into Mr. Trump, signed off by Merrick Garland, President Biden’s attorney general.

“We should be concerned about it, and we should follow the evidence,” Mrs. Clinton said.

“I don’t think he cared about the classification system. I don’t think he appreciated the sensitivity of this information, and he didn’t appreciate the sensitivity of how it was often acquired, the so-called sources and methods,”
John R. Bolton explained on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” after the Mar-a-Lago raid, speaking of the former president.

“This had been briefed to him before I arrived; it was repeated frequently. I think it simply had no impact on him whatever,” Mr.
Bolton concluded, talking about the time he served as Mr. Trump’s national security adviser and Mr. Trump’s carelessness over handling classified material, and praising the FBI raid.

WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump welcomed Gold Star family members into the Oval Office on Aug. 25 for a signing ceremony as he issued a proclamation honoring the lives lost four years ago as the United States withdrew its military from Afghanistan.

“This is a very special group of people. I’ve been with them from the beginning, Trump said during the event.

“They’ve been with me, and I’ve been with them 100 percent, and we meet more than once a year.”

The president recounted a 2023 meeting at his golf club in Bedminster, N.J., where he joined the families for a memorial.

“They thought I'd be there maybe for five minutes, maybe not at all, and I showed up for like four hours,” Trump said. “We’re listening to music all night long, and they were all crying because they lost their loved ones.”

A terrorist attack by terror group ISIS-K at Abbey Gate on Aug. 26, 2021, near Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport killed 13 U.S. service members and injured 32 others;

In a major win for American law and order, the Department of Justice has officially confirmed that Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, the elusive and powerful Sinaloa Cartel kingpin, will never walk free again. After years of evading capture and operating as one of the most dangerous drug traffickers in the Western Hemisphere, justice has finally caught up to him — and it’s permanent.

“Thanks to the work of our prosecutors and federal agents, ‘El Mayo’ will spend the rest of his life behind bars. He will die in a U.S. federal prison, where he belongs," Attorney General Pam Bondi said.

Speaking from the Oval Office Monday morning, Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller gave additional details about how the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department was cooking the books on data in order to make the argument crime was "going down."

"When we share the results, it will stun you," Miller said. "There are even accusations that murders and homicides were reported as accidents not murders. This is how severe the manipulation of the crime data has been in this city. It will all be uncovered and it will all be brought to light."

Mr.
Trump said he would likely bring back the Pentagon’s more forceful name in about a week.
