One day after Kentucky leaders agreed to follow federal law prohibiting in-state public college tuition rates for illegal aliens, the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a complaint against another state for noncompliance. 

The lawsuit, filed in the Southern Illinois U.S. District Court, names Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, state Attorney General Kwame Raoul, and the board of trustees for the state’s university system. It cites a 1996 federal act that says illegal immigrants cannot receive lower in-state tuition rates if that same rate is not made available to all U.S. citizens. 

Illinois laws, which allow in-state tuition rates for those recognized as state residents regardless of documentation or U.S. citizenship status, blatantly conflict with federal law and the supremacy clause of the U.S. Constitution, Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a Sept. 2 statement. 

“This Department of Justice has already filed multiple lawsuits to prevent U.S. students from being treated like second-class citizens,” she said. “Illinois now joins the list of states where we are relentlessly fighting to vindicate federal law.” 

U.S. Attorney Steven Weinhoeft said the Prairie State’s tuition policy only incentivizes more illegal immigration, “all on the taxpayer’s dime.” 

“Illinois has an apparent desire to win a ‘race to the bottom’ as the country’s leading sanctuary state. Its misguided approach mandating in-state tuition, scholarships, and financial aid to illegal aliens plainly violates federal law,” he said in the Sept. 2 statement.

Google will have to share data with competitors in the online search industry, a federal district judge ruled Sept. 2. 

At the same time, Washington-based U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta rejected prosecutors’ request that Google be compelled to sell off its Chrome browser. 

The judge ruled last year that Google was “a monopolist” and had violated Section 2 of the federal Sherman Act. Its business activities “effectively ‘froze’ the search ecosystem, resulting in markets in which Google has ‘no true competitor,” Mehta said in his new 226-page opinion in the consolidated cases of United States v. Google LLC and State of Colorado v. Google LLC. 

Today, Google remains “the dominant firm in the relevant product markets,” Mehta said.

There appears to be a fair amount of cooperation between China and some of the Central and South American drug cartels. We've known for some time now that China has been supplying cartels with fentanyl and other drugs and drug precursors. Now it appears as though some Chinese interests are actually laundering cartel money through the American financial system. 

Chinese networks are laundering billions of dollars in drug cartel cash through the U.S. financial system, according to a new report from the Treasury Department. 

Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network said banks flagged about $312 billion in transactions from suspected Chinese money laundering networks from January 2020 to December 2024. That came from 137,153 Bank Secrecy Act reports from financial institutions. Treasury also linked Chinese money laundering networks to U.S. real estate transactions, casinos, human trafficking and even laundering through assisted living homes in New York. The networks also use Chinese students studying in the U.S. to help facilitate some schemes. Real estate alone accounted for about 13% of the total, but the vast majority was U.S. banks. 

"Money laundering networks linked to individual passport holders from the People's Republic of China enable cartels to poison Americans with fentanyl, conduct human trafficking, and wreak havoc among communities across our great nation," Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence John Hurley said. 

Well, that certainly puts a whole new spin on the term "Chinese laundry."

U.S. financial systems have been warned to look out for Chinese money-laundering networks used by Mexico-based drug cartels, including some designated as foreign terrorist organizations. 

The Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network issued an advisory Thursday that money-laundering networks linked to individuals holding Chinese passports have enabled drug cartels "to poison Americans with fentanyl, conduct human trafficking, and wreak havoc among communities across our great nation." 

"The United States will not stand by and allow nefarious actors to launder illicit proceeds through our financial system," said John Hurley, the Treasury undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence, in a news release. "Today's publication of FinCEN's Advisory and Financial Trend Analysis reinforces Treasury's and law enforcement's ongoing work to combat Chinese money laundering networks and will help financial institutions better identify signs of illicit activity." 

FinCEN's Financial Trend Analysis scoured 137,153 Bank Secrecy Act reports filed by financial institutions between January 2020 and December 2024 associated with suspected activity relating to Chinese money laundering, totaling approximately $312 billion in suspicious transactions. 

FinCEN said Chinese money-laundering networks also participate in facilitating fraud, human trafficking, and human smuggling. It also linked the money-laundering networks to U.S. real estate transactions, casinos, and even laundering through adult daycare centers in New York.

The term “one-trick pony” applies perfectly to the Democrats. When I was a kid, the Democratic Party stood for something; advocated for things – was “the party of the working class,” or at least they claimed. Now, they barely pay lip service to any policy ideas. The ones they do are still all bad, but they have become a party obsessed with one thing and one thing only: Hating President Donald J. Trump. 

When was the last time you saw a Democrat, either elected or a “journalist,” advocate for something? Not against, mind, like your Second Amendment rights, but actually for something? I guess, technically, they advocate FOR higher taxes, but they do so by trying to let tax cuts expire. And open borders, well, they advocate FOR those by simply ignoring existing law by refusing to enforce it. 

But when was the last time they campaigned on some ideas? 

Hillary Clinton ran on being Hillary Clinton – the “historic” shatterer of “glass ceilings” and the like – but not many ideas. Or her record, for that matter – “Vote for the person most responsible for returning open-air slave markets to Libya!” doesn’t really look great on a bumper sticker. 

Joe Biden was older than dirt, senile as hell, and as accomplished as a wadded up Kleenex. But he swore he’d “restore our image in the world” and other meaningless, worthless crap like that. Feel restored yet? Nowhere did he campaign on giving his degenerate family members pardons, at least as far as I can remember.

As President Donald Trump pursues a trade deal with China, experts are cautioning that the regime has a history of breaking promises and can’t be trusted. 

The duplicity of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) can’t be solved by skilled negotiation or statesmanship, they said, as it stems from the regime’s structure and ideology. 

The CCP has been notorious for failing to honor major promises, according to Bradley Thayer, coauthor of “Embracing Communist China: America’s Greatest Strategic Failure” and member of the Committee on the Present Danger: China (CPDC).

 “Lenin said, of course, that agreements were pie crusts for communists—they’re made to be broken,” he told The Epoch Times. “And I think we want to keep in mind Lenin’s aphorism when we’re thinking about the CCP.” 

He listed several instances in which the CCP broke major promises and agreements. 

The CCP never fulfilled its vow to liberalize access to China’s market upon its 2001 accession to the World Trade Organization, he said.

Last week, several top officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention were fired or resigned in protest over their refusal to implement Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Make America Healthy Again agenda. 

The mainstream media classified the firings as “stunning” and a “mass exodus of top leaders,” leading to “chaos at the nation’s top public health agency.” However, as a working mom of three young boys who endured the never-ending COVID-19 lockdowns, vaccine mandates and school closures, which these public officials exacerbated, I welcome the restructuring. 

The biggest mistake of the first Trump administration was putting too much faith in the hands of these public health officials, amplifying the likes of Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx. “Fifteen days to slow the spread” became two years of public debate on the virus’ origin, the virtues of wearing masks and getting the jab, and the effectiveness of these life-altering “solutions.” 

Those of us who questioned these public officials were demonized and told we were “grandma killers” for wanting to visit our relatives, worship in church and maintain our communities. Our thoughts and opinions were monitored, suppressed and banned online by the Biden administration working hand in glove with Big Tech. This, as we watched our young children struggle with social isolation and develop learning impediments from having to wear masks and attend classes online. 

Then, with time, everything we suspected and argued turned out to be true. 

The origin of the virus that caused COVID-19 was most likely a lab in Wuhan, China. 

At a congressional hearing, Dr. Fauci acknowledged that the CDC recommendation to stay 6 feet away from others to ward off infection was not based on data. 

The mRNA vaccination didn’t prevent infection or spread of the virus; it just limited COVID-19’s severity.

BRUSSELS — A plane carrying European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen was hit by GPS jamming over Bulgaria in a suspected Russian operation, a spokesperson said Monday. 

The plane landed safely at Plovdiv airport in central Bulgaria and von der Leyen will continue her planned tour of the European Union’s eastern frontline nations, said commission spokesperson Arianna Podestà. 

“We can indeed confirm that there was GPS jamming,” said Podestà. “We have received information from the Bulgarian authority that they suspect that this was due to blatant interference by Russia.”

Chinese intelligence services are recruiting students, stealing American research and engaging in harassment of dissidents at U.S. universities, says a new report by the National Counterintelligence and Security Center. 

Other foreign spies are targeting universities with similar operations, but the Chinese threat is the most significant, the center said in a 40-page report, “Safeguarding Academia: Protecting Fundamental Research, Intellectual Property, Critical Technologies and the U.S. Research Ecosystem.” 

“No nation has targeted Western research, science and technology as aggressively as China,” the report said. “The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Chinese intelligence services represent the broadest, most active and persistent espionage threat to the U.S.” 

Russia and other foreign adversaries are engaged in technology theft from American schools to advance their programs but do so less aggressively. 

Chinese spies also pose the most significant threat to U.S. technology competitiveness by seeking “all manner of critical and enabling U.S. technologies,” the report said. 

Specific sectors include electronics, software, communications equipment and other materials aimed at advancing Chinese economic and military goals. 

The Chinese Ministry of State Security, the leading civilian intelligence agency, is working to recruit U.S. experts in critical and emerging technology areas, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, quantum technologies, semiconductors, optics, hypersonics and energy systems. 

China also is using its forays into academics to exploit research in genetics, medicine and AI to repress vulnerable populations and target specific people, the report said.
