Former President Donald Trump is sitting on an absurd amount of campaign cash — more than the Democratic National Committee and Republican National Committee combined.

His political committees raised $51 million over the last six months of 2021, and he ended the year with $122 million in the bank, most of that in his Save America Political Action Committee.

His operation said the money came from more than 1.6 million donations, and more than 98% of those were considered “small-dollar” contributions of less than $200, in what political operatives described as an unprecedented show of force for someone not currently in office.

Rep. Steve Scalise to Newsmax: House GOP to Unveil 'Bold' Midterm Agenda

(Newsmax/"Spicer & Co.")

By Eric Mack | Tuesday, 01 February 2022 08:49 PM

House Republicans are working on a "bold, conservative agenda" like former House Speaker Newt Gingrich's "Contract With America," so it can work to retake the majority on what the GOP is for instead of merely running on President Joe Biden's failures, according to Rep. Steve Scalise, R-S.C., on Newsmax.

"We're working on a really good, bold conservative agenda," Scalise told Tuesday's "Spicer & Co." "We've talked to Newt. We've talked to others, and what we want to do is roll that out in the next few months as we get closer to the election."

The Republican message needs to be focused on an agenda of issues instead of relying on "how bad the policies of Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi are," Scalise told co-hosts Sean Spicer and Lyndsay Keith.

"They want to know what we stand for, and we're going to be showing them what we stand for on every issue that people are facing," he added.

Speaking to reporters at the White House Tuesday, Press Secretary Jen Psaki encouraged big tech companies to "do more" to censor "misinformation" about the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic.

Psaki on @joerogan and "misinformation" on Spotify:

"Our hope is that all major tech platforms and all major news sources for that matter be responsible and be vigilant...we want every platform to continue doing more..." pic.twitter.com/W3JtHZcicx

Psaki was asked about Spotify's decision to slap a disclaimer on podcasts discussing the virus after the left and the government went after host Joe Rogan for engaging in lengthy discussions contrary to the White House narrative. In a video posted on his Instagram page, Rogan took issue with the term "misinformation" and pointed out factual information about the pandemic has been repeatedly censored.

The tally for how much the federal government spent to combat COVID-19 is now estimated to be $5 trillion. It is more than the combined costs of World Wars I and II. The left is celebrating that politicians in Washington saved us. Really? From what exactly?

Two years later, it is time for an honest assessment. Could things have worsened for the country if the government had spent nothing and done nothing? What would have happened if we had not shut down our businesses? Our churches, schools and restaurants. Our parks, basketball courts and playgrounds.

Would the public have made worse decisions regarding protecting its health and the health of its families and its employees than the politicians have made?

Another day, another devastating poll for President Biden and his administration. This time the bad news comes from Gallup: Only 17 percent of American citizens report being satisfied with the direction of our country.

As Gallup's release on the survey explains:

The current 17% national satisfaction reading is the lowest of Joe Biden's first year in office and coincides with his lowest job approval rating, 18% congressional job approval, sagging economic confidence and the expectation that inflation will rise in the coming months.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s son is allegedly tied to a fraud and bribery scheme that was investigated by the FBI, after documents revealed he was the homeowner of the residence at the center of the investigation.

Paul Pelosi Jr., 53, signed statements that indicated he was the property owner of a flophouse known as “The Pit,” where he had been “legally and financially responsible” for the activity that goes on in the home, according to a report by The Daily Mail.

Mrs. Pelosi’s office did not immediately respond for comment on the matter. Mr. Pelosi’s office has also not responded for comment on the matter.

A new U.S. District Court filing reveals an internal Justice Dept. tug-of-war

John Durham Investigation Illustration by Greg Groesch/The Washington Times more >

By Rowan Scarborough - The Washington Times - Tuesday, February 1, 2022

OPINION:

“Russiagate” Special Counsel John H. Durham is signaling he’s not at the end of investigating the Democratic Party scandal of promoting fake allegations to ruin candidate and former President Donald Trump.

Mr. Durham’s court update on Jan. 25 says he has gained access to voluminous FBI internal affairs case files. The Inspection Division is investigating agents for misconduct in Crossfire Hurricane, as the Trump probe was dubbed. Crossfire relied on the Democratic Party’s Christopher Steele dossier, which proved to be a bundle of falsehoods.

The U.S. District Court filing also tells of an internal tug-of-war in which the Justice Department’s top watchdog, Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz, has to be prodded to turn over everything related to Mr. Durham’s wide mandate. The delay is ironic. Mr. Horowitz blew the lid on FBI Crossfire misconduct in a lengthy 2019 report that detailed FBI rule breaking.

Manchin, Key Dem, Says Build Back Better Bill Is 'Dead'

(AP)

Tuesday, 01 February 2022 02:56 PM

Sen. Joe Manchin declared Tuesday that President Joe Biden's vast social and environment bill is “dead,” using his strongest language to date to underscore that any revival of Democrats' top domestic priorities would have to arise from fresh negotiations.

The remarks by the West Virginia Democrat didn't substantively alter the stance he'd taken in December, when he said he couldn't support the legislation as written, essentially dooming it. But his latest comments illustrated the election-year challenges facing his party as it struggles to resuscitate parts of the package and win over voters weary of the two-year-old pandemic and coping with the worst inflation in decades.

“What Build Back Better bill?” Manchin said Tuesday, using the legislation’s name, when reporters asked about it. “There is no, I mean, I don’t know what you’re all talking about.” Asked if he’d had any talks about it, he added, “No, no, no no. It’s dead.”

The Chinese Communist Party is only interested in the corporate sponsorships and worldwide attention gained through the broadcast of the Olympic Games and "is not that interested" in President Joe Biden's diplomatic boycott, Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., told Newsmax on Tuesday.

She added it is "disappointing" that NBC Sports would agree to broadcast the events.

"They are more interested in the profit," Blackburn said on Newsmax's "Wake Up America" about the upcoming broadcasts. "They are going to say as their reasoning and justification that this is so that the athletes are showcased.

Manchin Spent $70K for Security Over Opposing Biden's BBB Act: Report

Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., spent more than $70,000 in November on security as people on the left protested and threatened him for effectively blocking President Joe Biden's $1.7 trillion Build Back Better budget reconciliation bill in the Senate.

According to The Hill, the West Virginia senator spent more than $70,000 in November 2021 alone for security after activists protested and threatened him to fall in line supporting Biden's signature bill that expands the social safety net and battles climate change.

A source close to Manchin told The Hill that the senator and his family received ''specific threats'' while in Washington and at his home in West Virginia.
