Republicans cave and Democrats do not.

Unfortunately, this statement has rung true yet again as a majority threshold of the controlling body of U.S. House Republicans voted to raise the debt ceiling, signaling a win for the Hakeem Jeffries-led Democratic House Minority Caucus.

House Speaker Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., made the first significant mistake during his tenure: he caved to the majority of Democratic wants in a move many conservatives in the two bodies of Congress are bewildered by.
