Trump Bans Biological Men From Women’s Sports With New Executive Order

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday that will prohibit biological men from competing in women’s sports across the country.

A White House official told reporters that the executive order works under Title IX, and that the Department of Education will be investigating any school that violates the presidential action and allows biological men to compete in women’s sports on any level. Title IX is landmark legislation from 1972 that prohibits discrimination based on sex in any public school or university that receives federal funding. While signing the order, the president was surrounded by various activists who have advocated throughout the years to prohibit biological men from competing in women’s sports.

Trump said “the war on women’s sports is over” in his speech prior to the signing.

“I’m going to sign the executive order right now, and everything is going to go into effect immediately,” Trump moments before he signed the order. He was surrounded by school-age girls as he signed the document.
