James 'Mad Dog' Mattis en route to South Korea, Japan in first trip as US Secretary of Defence

The US Secretary of Defence has departed the United States en route to Seoul on his first mission abroad.
James Mattis will meet the Prime Minister and Acting President of South Korea, Hwang Kyo-ahn, later today and the Defence Minister, Han Min Koo, on Friday.
General Mattis will then fly to Japan to meet the Prime Minister and Defence Minister.
The two countries have been nervous about the policy changes that might be in the pipeline under the administration of US President Donald Trump.
