New: US Navy Destroyers Lead Mine-Clearing Charge in Strait of Hormuz

The Strait of Hormuz, it is becoming apparent, is not and never will be an Iranian lake.
Earlier this morning, my fellow veteran, friend and colleague streiff informed us of the transit of the Strait by two United States Navy destroyers, the USS Frank E. Peterson (DDG 121) and USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112), safely transited the Strait of Hormuz.

Now, Central Command, which has operational control of United States forces in that theater, has announced the intent to begin mine-clearing operations.
