Obama Administration Seeks To Delay Release Of Clinton Aides’ Emails Until Late 2018
"The American people have a right to see these emails before the election."

The Obama administration filed a motion in federal court on Thursday seeking a 27-month delay in producing emails between Hillary Clinton and her former State Department aides.
If granted, the documents would not be due until October 2018, over a year-and-half into a potential first term of a Clinton presidency.
U.S. District Judge Rudolph Contreras had ordered the State Department to produce the emails sought in a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit brought by Citizens United by July 21.

Hillary Clinton Email Scandal_ Conflict of Interest: Atty Gen Loretta Lynch Met Privately With Bill Clinton
THE RING OF FIRE
Conflict of Interest: Atty Gen Loretta Lynch Met Privately With Bill Clinton
June 30, 2016
Quite a few eyebrows were raised this week after an apparent impromptu meeting between the Attorney General Loretta Lynch and Former President Bill Clinton.
In a rare bipartisan moment, members in both parties are deeply uncomfortable with the meeting as it signifies a possible conflict of interest in the ongoing investigation of Hillary Clinton’s email scandal.
Whether or not you believe that Clinton is innocent or guilty when it comes to her “damn emails” the fact is that the investigation is very much active and ongoing, and for the leader of that group to be fraternizing with the husband of the person being investigated should make everyone deeply uncomfortable.
So what did the two discuss during their private meeting? If Atty Gen Lynch is to be believed, the topics were light and unrelated to work. Grandchildren, golf, traveling.
Though it is easy to believe that the two were truly talking innocently, why would they take the chance and create such a talking-point? The Clintons should be doing their best to cooperate and minimize this entire scandal, not go gallivanting around with the leader of the entire investigation.
And what was Lynch thinking? People already question her leadership abilities in her position and will be ready to cry fowl at whatever verdict the FBI reaches in the email case, so why place an inopportune meeting in the way of what could be a much more transparent investigation?
The two did nothing illegal by holding their conversation, and noted legal professor Stephen Gillers says that nothing that happened could be considered legally unethical, but Gillers placed the bulk of the blame on Clinton who he claims put Lynch in a very difficult spot.
“It was the height of insensitivity for the former president to approach the attorney general. He put her in a very difficult position. She wasn’t really free to say she wouldn’t talk to a former president. He jeopardized her independence and did create an appearance of impropriety going on to her plane.”
Blunders like this will only do more damage to the Clinton campaign and make some people toss aside the old Bernie adage about those “damn emails.” Some people are starting to care, and care a whole lot.

US ELECTION 2016_ Trump narrows gap on Clinton in new poll

VIDEO Trump narrows gap on Clinton in new poll
Washington (AFP) - The US presidential battle is too close to call, but one element is clear: Americans have soured on candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, a poll released Wednesday showed.
Respondents to the latest Quinnipiac University national poll put Clinton ahead of Trump just 42 percent to 40 percent, a narrowing from Clinton's four-point margin in the organization's June 1 survey.
It is also considerably closer than the 12-point Clinton advantage in an ABC News/Washington Post poll published Sunday which highlighted Clinton capitalizing on Trump's recent mis-steps.
The Quinnipiac survey of 1,610 registered voters notably showed that 61 percent believe the 2016 election "has increased the level of hatred and prejudice in the US."
Of that group, two thirds blame the Trump campaign, with just 16 percent blaming Clinton's team.
Overall the survey shows less-than-flattering views of both candidates in the months before the November 8 election to determine who succeeds President Barack Obama in the White House.
"Voters find themselves in the middle of a mean-spirited, scorched earth campaign between two candidates they don't like. And they don't think either candidate would be a good president," Quinnipiac poll assistant director Tim Malloy said in a statement.
Trump has made several incendiary statements during the campaign, including a call for banning Muslims from entering the United States, and describing Mexicans as rapists and criminals.
It has been a tumultuous week for Trump, a political novice who recently fired his campaign manager and faced criticism for having a paltry $1.3 million war chest at the end of May.
Following the mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, the brash businessman earned rebukes for tweeting out self-congratulations over "being right on radical Islamic terrorism."
Respondents said by 58 percent to 33 percent that former secretary of state Clinton is better prepared to be president than Trump.
But they said Trump would be better at creating jobs (52-40 percent) and at handling Islamic State extremists (52-39).
The poll has a margin of error of 2.4 percentage points.
