Hannity Tops Maddow in TV Ratings in First 9 P.M. Matchup

Fox News host Sean Hannity attracted more viewers than any of his competitors in his 9 p.m. debut Monday night, beating out MSNBC's Rachel Maddow in the first head-to-head matchup between the two cable news heavyweights.
Hannity, who previously hosted his show on weeknights at 10 p.m., debuted his show at 9 p.m. on Monday, attracting 610,000 more viewers than his progressive MSNBC rival Maddow, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Cops reveal clue linking suspect to Google manager’s murder

WORCESTER, Mass. — Police say socks and a hair tie found on the body of a Google employee slain while out for a run near her mother’s Massachusetts home tested positive for gasoline, and the man charged with killing her bought $5 worth of gas on the day of her death.
The police affidavit in the death of 27-year-old Vanessa Marcotte was filed in a Massachusetts court.
Marcotte lived in New York City but was visiting her mother in Princeton, Massachusetts, in August 2016 when she failed to return from a run and her body was found in the nearby woods.
“Her hands and feet had been burned,” the affidavit said, “presumably in an attempt to destroy potential DNA evidence.”

As they waited for the plane bringing him back to Ohio, Otto’s parents, Fred and Cindy, had held on to hope that with medical care in the United States, he would eventually get better. That optimism didn't last long.
They instead saw the reality of torture at the hands of Kim Jong Un's brutal regime: their son was now blind and deaf, with mangled teeth, jerking violently and moaning on a stretcher with a feeding tube coming out of his nose.

These NFL Players Would Never Kneel During The National Anthem [SLIDESHOW]

These NFL players are the ones that would never kneel for the national anthem. These players are either retired or still playing in the league and they will always respect our country by standing for the anthem.
Derek Wolfe, a defensive end for the Denver Broncos said, “I stand because I respect the men who have died in real battle so I have the freedom to battle on the field.”
Nate Boyer is a long snapper for the Seattle Seahawks and he has served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He doesn’t seem to be one to ever kneel for the anthem.
Burgess Owens, who played ten seasons in the NFL, said, “Let’s stop putting down the country and the culture that’s given us the opportunity to become millionaires, literally.”
These players who are kneeling have been given the opportunity to play this game and make millions every year. They are disrespecting our country and it needs to stop.

Trump is already beating Obama in the most important ways

The editorial pages are beginning to devote more column space to the election of 2020. It's all about President Trump, of course — specifically, how Democrats smell blood in the water, and how they intend to sell their reconfigured platform to voters. The narrative includes an assurance that next time they will not nominate a pretend Johnny (or Jane)-come-lately progressive such as Hillary Clinton, but the real thing — a.k.a. Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren.
Observers can think about the political calculus this way: Trump is the denominator, a baseline for everything and anything that progressives believe went awry commencing on Jan. 20. The numerators will be a familiar list of progressive causes: single-payer healthcare (already a priority item for potential Democratic presidential candidates), abortion on demand, a $15 minimum wage, loose border and voter identification requirements, sanctuary cities, a war on fossil fuels, and funding cuts to charter schools.
Just how Democrats will go about selling their "Progressive 2.0" program to the socially and economically conservative working class remains to be seen, especially if "Trumpanomics" manages to produce anything close to sustained growth. What is likely not to occur due to all the Trump-related drama is a serious re-examination of Obama-era miscalculations and strategic errors. But keeping track of what just happened, and why, is important for a sharply divided country.

Army veteran and Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Alejandro Villanueva became the most popular player on the NFL's online store over the past 24 hours.
Fanatics, the company that manages the NFL Shop site, confirmed Monday that Villanueva's gear, including jerseys and name and number t-shirts, had been ordered more than that of any other player in the league since Sunday's games, ESPN reports.
During Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears, Villanueva was the only Steelers player to leave the locker room and stand on the sidelines of the field for the national anthem. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin criticized Villanueva, a former Army ranger who served three tours in Afghanistan and was awarded the Bronze Star, for his actions.

Jessie James Decker is standing up for the national anthem.
The singer wrote a lengthy message on Instagram supporting the national anthem and what it represents for the United States on Monday. Decker, who is married to Tennessee Titans player Eric Decker, posted a video of her singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at a football game, saying it was one of her favorite songs to perform.
“I think about my dad, my uncles, my cousins, both grandfathers who fought in the Vietnam war. I think about how my grandfather paw paw Tim would ask me to sing this song for him every time I saw him and how he would make me turn the other way to sing it so he could just weep and cry as hard as he wanted because it meant so much to him,” the singer wrote along with the clip.
Decker goes on to say she thinks of the troops deployed worldwide, including in the Middle East, while she belts out the anthem and that she’s paying respects to those sacrificing their lives.
“I think about all of the men crying because they missed their wives so much, or the man telling me he hadn't seen his baby girl yet since she was born,” she added.
“When I sing this song I think about them. This song is about them. It's not about me. That's what I think about every time I sing it,” she said.
“I love our country so much. And we should all love and respect each other because this is the greatest country in the world. I see the love. I see the unity in all walks of life on a daily basis and It makes me so proud to be an American..... so In the words of Forrest Gump. That's all I have to say about that,” she said.

Trump expands travel ban to include North Korea, Venezuela and Chad

President Trump issued a new travel ban Sunday evening to restrict visitors and immigrants from eight countries that have “inadequate” vetting procedures.
“Making America Safe is my number one priority. We will not admit those into our country we cannot safely vet,” Trump tweeted Sunday in announcing immigration policy.
Trump’s March 6 executive order that covered travelers from six countries — Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Sudan and Yemen — expired Sunday evening.
