Leaked ‘Five Eyes’ dossier on alleged Chinese coronavirus coverup consistent with US findings, officials say

A research dossier compiled by the so-called “Five Eyes” intelligence alliance, that reportedly concludes China intentionally hid or destroyed evidence of the coronavirus pandemic, is consistent with U.S. findings about the origins of the outbreak so far, senior U.S. officials told Fox News on Saturday.
The 15-page document from the intelligence agencies of the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand, was obtained by Australia's Saturday Telegraph newspaper and finds that China's secrecy amounted to an “assault on international transparency."
TIMELINE OF CHINA'S POSSIBLE CORONAVIRUS COVER-UP
The dossier, which is likely to further increase pressure on the Chinese government to explain its actions and early statements, points to the initial denial by the government that the virus could be transmitted between humans, the silencing of doctors, destruction of evidence, and a refusal to provide samples to scientists working on a vaccine.
While U.S. intelligence is not confirming the existence of the 15-page document, a senior official told Fox that reports of the document aligns with U.S. intelligence that China knew the spread between humans earlier than it said, that it knew it was a novel coronavirus earlier than it said and that it was spread wider than they reported to the international community in the first weeks of the outbreak.
But there are some exceptions. In particular, Australia believes the virus originated in a wet market, as the Chinese have claimed. However, the U.S. intelligence community has not yet determined this and is still leaning away from that theory.

China deliberately suppressed or destroyed evidence of the coronavirus outbreak in an “assault on international transparency’’ that cost tens of thousands of lives, according to a dossier prepared by concerned Western governments on the COVID-19 contagion.
The 15-page research document, obtained by The Saturday Telegraph, lays the foundation for the case of negligence being mounted against China.
It states that to the “endangerment of other countries” the Chinese government covered-up news of the virus by silencing or “disappearing” doctors who spoke out, destroying evidence of it in laboratories and refusing to provide live samples to international scientists who were working on a vaccine.

Ex-National Security Adviser Michael Flynn looks like he might be on his way to total and complete exoneration from the shoddy perjury charges that were lobbed against him by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Flynn was fired for supposedly being less than truthful about some calls he made to then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. The FBI has been exposed as manufacturing a perjury trap for Flynn.

Education Department investigates University of Texas ties to Wuhan lab

The Department of Education revealed that it is scrutinizing the University of Texas’s financial ties to the Wuhan Institute of Virology as part of its broadening investigation of foreign funding by China and other countries on U.S. campuses.
Reed Rubinstein, the Education Department’s acting general counsel, sent a seven-page letter to University of Texas Chancellor James Milliken on April 24, as first reported by the Wall Street Journal on Friday, with the government saying it did not have confidence that the school had reported all of its foreign contracts, including with the Wuhan lab, as required by Section 117 of the Higher Education Act of 1965.
The letter said the University of Texas’s Medical Branch is responsible for the operation of the Galveston National Laboratory, which, in turn, has “substantial contractual relations” with a maximum biocontainment laboratory, or MCL, in Wuhan, China. That lab is owned by the Chinese government’s Chinese Academy of Sciences.
State Department cables in 2018 warned about biosecurity and management problems at the lab. The U.S. intelligence community is currently investigating whether the novel coronavirus originated in a wet market or through an accidental release from the lab.

The FBI’s ‘Russiagate’ search-and-destroy mission against Team Trump

With the latest revelation, the FBI’s “Russiagate” investigation now stands exposed as worse than amateurish — and more like a search-and-destroy mission.
Destroy the Trump administration, that is — not actual US enemies.
Lawyers for ex-Gen. Michael Flynn released just-unsealed documents that suggest the FBI abused its power to take out President Trump’s first national security adviser.
Two FBI agents interviewed Flynn at the White House on Jan. 24, 2017, just days after the inauguration. The claim that he’d lied to those agents about his contacts with the Russian ambassador triggered a Beltway fury that forced him to quit, ending his career.
Late that year, Flynn pleaded guilty to making false statements in the meeting, though he’s now trying to withdraw his plea.

Flynn is guilty of some bad judgment on other fronts. But none of that excuses an FBI frame, or the Mueller team’s later use of that outrageous setup to prosecute Flynn.
Let’s hope US Attorney John Durham, who’s been looking into this whole debacle, reports back soon on this appalling mess.

EXCLUSIVE: U.S. Attorney for Connecticut John Durham has reviewed the bombshell files released earlier this week showing FBI officials discussed whether they wanted to interview Michael Flynn in order to “get him to lie,” sources familiar with his investigation told Fox News, as the document drop renews attention on his probe of the law enforcement community's Russia case.
Sources even said charges could be justified against officials, and that those reviewing the Justice Department and the FBI's actions are building a "serious case." Durham and Attorney General Bill Barr are said to be speaking regularly.
“Durham has seen all of this already,” one source told Fox News, adding that they “could be sufficient for some charges against agents.”

COVID-19 origins: China continues to deny foreign access to Wuhan lab
New details about efforts to find out how the coronavirus pandemic began; Gillian Turner reports.
Federal officials are pressing one of the most advanced biocontainment laboratories in the U.S. to reveal more information relating to their extensive work and contractual relationship with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a new letter from the Department of Education reveals.
The letter, dated April 24 and addressed to the University of Texas chancellor James Milliken, asks explicitly for disclosures as required under section 117 of the Higher Education Act.
"Between June 6, 2014, and June 3, 2019, U.T. reported approximately twenty-four contracts with various Chinese state-owned universities and ten contracts with Huawei Technologies, all purportedly worth a reported total of $12,987,896," the letter, signed by Reed D. Rubinstein, principal deputy general counsel for the U.S. Department of Education, states. "It is not clear, however, whether U.T. has, in fact, reported all gifts from or contracts with or relating to the Wuhan MCL, the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and/or all other foreign sources, including agents and instrumentalities of the government of the Peoples' Republic of China."

"Therefore, to verify U.T.'s compliance with Section 117, the Department requests that your Institution produce the following records within thirty (30) days. Unless otherwise noted, the relevant time frame for these requests is January 1, 2012, through the present," the letter continues.
The GNL, which is part of the University of Texas system, is one of just 14 biosafety level 4 labs in the U.S.

In light of bombshell FBI documents that reveal an alleged scheme to set up then-national security adviser Michael Flynn, Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., told “Fox & Friends” on Friday that the FBI was getting ready to close the Flynn case, but "anti-Trumper" agent Peter Strzok pushed it to continue.
"[Strzok] had motivations against Donald Trump, not as a cop trying to find out facts,” the House minority whip argued.
“Strzok and [FBI attorney Lisa Page] were both dirty cops in the beginning … it looks like they were literally trying to set a trap for him.”
