Democrat Leadership is Sinister, Not Misguided

Even the least informed among Republicans should have gained valuable insights from the Schumer Shutdown. Impeding so many functions of government for 40+ days served a purpose for Democrats. It didn't matter how many Americans were suffering or what kinds of delays and hardships citizens were encountering. That some people wouldn't be able to pay their bills or eat full meals was of little concern.
Holding Out on Cue
Those crafty Democrats, ever plotting and planning for ways to take political control and to wield absolute power, had sought all along to hold out until the November 4, 2025, elections.
With the rock-solid support of the fakestream propaganda machine, they knew they’d be able to usher in a distinct, if limited, number of new governors, attorneys general, mayors, and other elected officials across the country. Obviously, the few elections were small in number compared to the forthcoming midterms and to the 2028 national election.
It behooves everyone on the Right, nonetheless, to understand that Democrat leadership is not weak-willed or moronic. They are unrelenting in their fervor. In each and every instance where they can muster any leverage, no matter how many of their own constituents it hurts, they seek to take political power. They aim to dominate in election after election, and ultimately, to bring down the country. Legions of them are a part of the movement.

Fourteen people were shot and four of them were killed at a child’s birthday party at a Dairy Queen in Stockton, California, on Saturday shortly before 6 p.m.
The shooter hasn’t been caught. Several of those killed were reportedly children.
The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the shooting near the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue in Stockton.
“We are urging anyone with information, video footage, or who may have witnessed any part of this incident to contact the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office immediately," the sheriff's office said. "Community assistance is vital in helping us identify those responsible and bring justice to the victims and their loved ones.”
Authorities urged the public to share information about the shooter.
“This is a very active and ongoing investigation, and information remains limited. Early indications suggest this may be a targeted incident, and investigators are exploring all possibilities. Detectives are actively working to determine the circumstances leading up to this tragedy.
Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone impacted by this senseless violence."

A previously unseen video recording of a Chinese general’s secret military trial for refusing to carry out orders during the 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre has surfaced online in the past few days, offering a unique look into one of the most sensitive cases from the period.
On Nov. 24, Wu Renhua, a Chinese scholar and participant of the 1989 Tiananmen protests, shared the full video on X. The six-hour video, now taken down from the Internet Archive and uploaded on YouTube by Human Rights in China, showed the trial of Major General Xu Qinxian, on March 17, 1990, who was the then-commander of the People’s Liberation Army’s (PLA) 38th Group Army.
Xu was dismissed and secretly sentenced after refusing to sign orders deploying his troops into Beijing to enforce martial law. The 38th Group Army was considered a core elite unit, and Xu’s defiance surprised senior leaders, including the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) then-de facto leaders Deng Xiaoping and Yang Shangkun.
The CCP declared martial law on May 20, 1989, as mass pro-democracy demonstrations spread across Beijing and other cities. Xu refused when military officials first convened to deliver the deployment order.
The PLA eventually entered the capital roughly two weeks later, opening fire on civilians on June 3–4.

Department of Justice (DOJ) officials are attempting to crack down on an online predator network known as “764,” as online exploitation of vulnerable groups increases.
This group has proven to be dangerous for many minors and other victims online who are targeted and threatened through forums and gaming platforms.
The FBI announced on Feb. 20 that they have prioritized these investigations. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children said the group is “producing some of the most sadistic online enticement reports we’ve ever seen.”
Here’s what we know about the “764” network and the government’s crackdown.

President Trump warned that Venezuelan airspace is too dangerous to fly.
“To all Airlines, Pilots, Drug Dealers, and Human Traffickers, please consider THE AIRSPACE ABOVE AND SURROUNDING VENEZUELA TO BE CLOSED IN ITS ENTIRETY,” he posted Saturday on social media.
This comes after the Federal Aviation Administration warned last week that all pilots need to “exercise caution” when flying above Venezuela “due to worsening security situation and heightened military activity.”

According to the Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, President Trump should have a decision on who will replace Jerome Powell as the Chair of the Federal Reserve by Christmas.
Kevin Hassett, the Director of the National Economic Council of the United States, is currently seen as the frontrunner, although Bessent said that President Trump has one interview left to conduct.
“I think there’s a very good chance that the president will make an announcement before Christmas,” Bessent said. “But it’s [Trump’s] prerogative, whether it’s before the Christmas holidays or in the new year. But I think things are moving along very well.”
The five finalists for the role include Hassett, former Fed Governor Kevin Warsh, current Fed Governors Christopher Waller and Michelle Bowman, and Rick Rieder, the chief investment officer of global fixed income at BlackRock.

The problem with getting a free pass on your responsibilities is that, after a while, you begin to think that you don’t have any. That’s what’s happened to the Democrats. Let’s talk about Captain Mark Kelly, and I emphasize “Captain” because Captain Mark Kelly always uses his rank in his X username and elsewhere, because it’s very important to him that he is a captain. Yes, your rank belongs in your bio because that’s what you were – I’m an O6 too, and it is in my bio. It’s a credential. Take it for what it’s worth. But it’s not in my username. I’m Kurt, just Kurt. I just find it tacky to use rank all the time. So do most other officers. But it’s actually important for other reasons discussed below.
Anyway, Captain Kelly is now being investigated under the UCMJ, the Uniform Code of Military Justice, for his participation in that obnoxious video. That’s not a good thing for him. He could be called back to active duty and prosecuted in a court-martial. I cover the potential penalties below.
At the outset, I have some questions about whether it’s a good idea to do that, because I tend to defer to free speech even where there is a technical argument for prosecution. I would normally let it be handled in the political arena. But these aren’t normal times, thanks largely to Captain Mark Kelly et al. I have to fall back on the threshold question – what’s the rule? The problem with getting a free pass on your responsibilities is that, after a while, you begin to think that you don’t have any. That’s what’s happened to the Democrats. Take the “illegal orders” video, a combination of stupidity, narcissism, treachery, and blue falconry rarely equaled even by the low standards of the Dems.

The Department of State has paused issuing visas for individuals traveling on Afghan passports after an Afghan terrorist shot two National Guard soldiers in Washington, D.C.
One soldier died and one is in critical condition. The 29-year-old terrorist was also shot. The federal government has said that it will pursue the death penalty for the man
Trump said that the terrorist entered the U.S. from Afghanistan. He said that the Biden administration let in 20 million “unknown and unvetted.”

On Nov. 12, Google filed a lawsuit in New York federal court seeking to shut down a ring of scammers who it claims are operating a China-based international smishing scheme which has allegedly stolen millions of dollars from customers in the United States.
The lawsuit identifies the perpetrators only as a succession of John Does, numbered 1 through 25.
“The scam begins with a text message,” the document reads. “It may alert you to a problem with the delivery of a package and invite you to click a link to correct your address and pay a small delivery fee.”
“Or it may warn you of an unpaid toll or ticket, directing you to a toll collection website that appears legitimate to pay the outstanding charges,” it says.
Sometimes scammers say that the recipient needs to make a small transaction, as little as a dollar, to verify their account, Jurgita Lapienyte, chief editor of Cybernews, explained to The Epoch Times.
Beware One-Time Code Messages
“So they would send you a one-time code to confirm the transaction,” Lapienyte said, “In fact, what they are doing by sending you that code, they are linking the card numbers that you entered to their phones.”
Phishing attacks, which as far back as the 1990s used emails to scam unsuspecting victims, evolved into smishing attacks, which use text, or SMS, messages.

The current generation “Z” — those now roughly between 13 and 28 years old — is becoming our 21st-century version of the “Lost Generation.” Members of Gen Z are often nicknamed “Zoomers,” a term used to describe young adults who came of age in the era of smartphones, social media, and rapid cultural upheaval.
Males in their teens and 20s are prolonging their adolescence — rarely marrying, not buying a home, not having children, and often not working full-time.
The negative stereotype of a Zoomer is a shiftless man, who plays too many video games. He is too coddled by parents and too afraid to strike out on his own. Zoomers rarely date supposedly out of fear that they would have to grow up, take charge, and head a household.

United States Attorney Jeanine Pirro of the District of Columbia said Friday authorities upgraded the charges against the suspect accused of killing a National Guard member.
Afghan immigrant Rahmanullah Lakanwal allegedly shot 24-year-old Andrew Wolfe and 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom with a Smith & Wesson revolver at the Farragut West Metro Station in Washington, D.C., just a mile from the White House. Appearing on “‘Fox & Friends,” Pirro said investigators moved from assault charges to first-degree murder after reviewing initial evidence that showed the 20-year-old soldier was gunned down.
“Oh, there’s no question. First of all, our hearts go out and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of a beautiful 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom who answered the call to serve her nation,” Pirro said when asked about a possible escalation in charges. “And she volunteered. And she ended up being shot ambush style on the cold streets of Washington, D.C. by an individual who will now be charged with murder in the first degree. There are certainly many more charges to come, but we are upgrading the initial charges of assault to murder in the first degree.”

To boot, he called Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz “seriously retarded” for allowing his state to be essentially taken over by Somali illegals and their gangs. He also delivered a haymaker to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) for reasons that don't need explaining. You know her baggage. The president will also be pushing to end all migration from third-world nations.

They and their children are supported through massive payments from Patriotic American Citizens who, because of their beautiful hearts, do not want to openly complain or cause trouble in any way, shape, or form. They put up with what has happened to our Country, but it’s eating them alive to do so! A migrant earning $30,000 with a green card will get roughly $50,000 in yearly benefits for their family. The real migrant population is much higher. This refugee burden is the leading cause of social dysfunction in America, something that did not exist after World War II (Failed schools, high crime, urban decay, overcrowded hospitals, housing shortages, and large deficits, etc.). As an example, hundreds of thousands of refugees from Somalia are completely taking over the once great State of Minnesota. Somalian gangs are roving the streets looking for “prey” as our wonderful people stay locked in their apartments and houses hoping against hope that they will be left alone. The seriously retarded Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, does nothing, either through fear, incompetence, or both, while the worst “Congressman/woman” in our Country, Ilhan Omar, always wrapped in her swaddling hijab, and who probably came into the U.S.A. illegally in that you are not allowed to marry your brother, does nothing but hatefully complain about our Country, its Constitution, and how “badly” she is treated, when her place of origin is a decadent, backward, and crime ridden nation, which is essentially not even a country for lack of Government, Military, Police, schools, etc…

Supreme Court Justice Neil M. Gorsuch next year will release a children’s book called “Heroes of 1776” to share stories of courage by young people who supported the Declaration of Independence.
Justice Gorsuch and his former clerk Janie Nitze co-wrote the book, published by HarperCollins, which presents stories about American leaders during the American Revolution. It will be ready for purchase in May.
The book also showcases everyday people who contributed to America’s greatness — not just leaders such as Thomas Jefferson and George Washington.
“Heroes of 1776” includes a story about an 18-year-old spy who escaped British troops to deliver an important message to the revolutionaries.

Hong Kong authorities said on Nov. 28 that the search for survivors after a massive fire tore through a residential complex in the New Territories, killing at least 128 people, has ended. About 200 people remain unaccounted for.
Hong Kong Security Secretary Chris Tang told reporters that the blaze had been extinguished and that the rescue operation is over, adding that firefighters were now focused on lowering temperatures inside the structures.
“Our aim now is to make sure the temperature decreases in the building, and once everything is deemed safe, police will collect evidence and conduct further investigation,” he said.

National Guard Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, one of the two soldiers shot in an ambush-style attack just blocks from the White House, has died from her injuries, President Donald Trump said Thursday night.
Trump made the announcement before speaking to military units via video link from West Palm Beach, Florida, where he is spending the Thanksgiving holiday.
"I must unfortunately tell you that just seconds before I went on, right now, I heard that Sarah Beckstrom of West Virginia — one of the Guardsmen, highly respected, young, magnificent person, started service in June 2023, outstanding in every way — she's just passed away," Trump said.
"She's no longer with us. Looking down on us right now. Her parents are with her.
"This just happened. She was savagely attacked. She's dead. She's not with us," he said.
"Incredible person. Outstanding in every single way, every department. It's horrible."
Trump said the other West Virginia National Guard member who was shot, Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24, "is in very bad shape."
"He's fighting for his life, and hopefully we'll get better news with respect to him," he said.
Trump called the suspected shooter — Rahmanullah Lakanwal, a 29-year-old Afghan national — a "savage monster" and criticized what he described as catastrophic vetting failures during former President Joe Biden's chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal in 2021.
The Department of Homeland Security said Lakanwal came to the U.S. in September 2021 under Operation Allies Welcome, a Biden-era program to resettle thousands of Afghans who assisted U.S. forces during the Afghanistan war and feared reprisals after the Taliban seized control of the country.
Beckstrom's father, Gary Beckstrom, earlier Thursday told The New York Times by phone that his daughter's injuries were not survivable.
"I'm holding her hand right now. She has a mortal wound. It's not going to be a recovery," he said, declining further comment.
Both soldiers had undergone emergency surgery after the attack and were listed in critical condition.
Newsmax and other media outlets reported that Beckstrom had volunteered for the duty shift so fellow Guard members could spend Thanksgiving with their families.
Trump used the moment to draw a direct line between the shooting and what he called the Biden administration's disastrous and rushed Afghanistan evacuation, which brought tens of thousands of Afghans into the U.S. under emergency procedures.
He held up a photo from the chaotic airlift in Kabul — Afghans clinging to a departing U.S. aircraft — telling the troops, "Here's a picture — just take a look at that plane. This is what we had under the Biden administration."

The last report had the two members still in critical condition, according to the FBI. The attack is being investigated as a possible act of international terrorism.

"In the wake of the disastrous Biden withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Biden administration justified bringing the alleged shooter to the United States in September 2021 due to his prior work with the U.S. government, including CIA, as a member of a partner force in Kandahar, which ended shortly following the chaotic evacuation," CIA Director John Ratcliffe told Fox News Digital.
"The individual—and so many others—should have never been allowed to come here," Ratcliffe continued. "Our citizens and service members deserve far better than to endure the ongoing fallout from the Biden administration’s catastrophic failures."

Attorney General Pam Bondi said Thursday that the suspect in the National Guardsmen shooting in Washington, D.C. could receive the death penalty.
Two National Guardsmen were critically injured after a suspect, identified as 29-year-old Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, opened fire on them on Wednesday. Bondi said the suspect’s charges will be based on the victims’ prognosis, adding that the guardsmen volunteered to work on Thanksgiving so others could enjoy the holiday.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said Thursday that the suspect in the National Guardsmen shooting in Washington, D.C. could receive the death penalty.
Two National Guardsmen were critically injured after a suspect, identified as 29-year-old Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, opened fire on them on Wednesday. Bondi said the suspect’s charges will be based on the victims’ prognosis, adding that the guardsmen volunteered to work on Thanksgiving so others could enjoy the holiday.

TAIPEI, Taiwan—China is “accelerating” its military preparations to achieve its goal of forcibly seizing Taiwan by 2027, Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te warned on Nov. 26, while announcing a special defense budget of $40 billion to confront the Chinese military threats.
Speaking at a press conference in the presidential office, Lai said the budget would be allocated over an eight-year period, from 2026 to 2033, for projects including the construction of a “Taiwan Dome,” an air defense system featuring high-level detection and effective interception capabilities.

Authorities on Nov. 27 arrested three men on suspicion of manslaughter in relation to Hong Kong’s deadliest fire in decades, which killed at least 65 people and left hundreds missing, as officials continue rescuing residents from the high-rise apartment buildings involved in the inferno.
The fire, which began the previous day in a housing complex in Tai Po district in the New Territories, continued to burn on Thursday.
Authorities evacuated hundreds of residents while the fire engulfed seven of the Wang Fuk Court complex’s eight towers, sending flames and smoke billowing out of windows.
Officials on Nov. 27 said 51 of the 65 deaths were declared at the scene, with at least 70 left with injuries ranging from burns to respiratory damage. One firefighter was killed and another 10 injured, officials said.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday night described the shooting of two West Virginia National Guard members by a suspect believed to be a 29-year-old Afghan national as a "heinous assault" and an act of evil, hatred and terror.
The two Guardsmen are in critical condition after what authorities described as a targeted, ambush-style attack. The suspect, identified as Rahmanullah Lakamal, was shot during the incident and is in custody with non-life-threatening injuries.
"It was a crime against our entire nation," Trump said in a video address from West Palm Beach, Florida, where he is spending the Thanksgiving holiday. The address aired on Newsmax and the Newsmax2 free online streaming platform.
"It was a crime against humanity," he said. "The hearts of all Americans tonight are with those two members of the West Virginia National Guard and their families.
"The love of our entire country is pouring out for them, and we are lifting them up in our prayers as we are filled with anguish and grief. For those who were shot, we’re also filled with righteous anger and ferocious resolve.
"As president of the United States, I am determined to ensure that the animal who perpetrated this atrocity pays the steepest possible price."
Trump confirmed reports that the suspect entered the U.S. in 2021 following the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan. Lakamal was reportedly lying in wait before rounding a corner near the Farragut West Metro Station in Northwest D.C. at about 2:15 p.m. local time. He then opened fire, striking a female Guard member in the chest before shooting her in the head, law enforcement sources told the New York Post.

Here at RedState, we've been reporting on the slow progress of the Russia/Ukraine peace talks. The most recent developments have been encouraging; maybe cautiously so, but encouraging nonetheless. The fighting goes on, for now, but there may finally be light at the end of this long, dark tunnel.
Even so, from Washington, D.C., there has been a steady drip, drip, drip of leaks of discussions around this process, and if someone was deliberately trying to sabotage these peace talks, it's hard to see what they might do differently.

Washington Times columnist Miles Yu, one of the nation’s leading China experts, incurred the wrath of the Chinese Communist Party recently, highlighting the global reach of his reports.
Mr. Yu appears to have hit a nerve with his recent opinion article listing 10 reasons why Beijing’s call for reunification with Taiwan is “a hoax.”
His list includes the fact that Taiwan was never part of Communist China and that Taiwan’s current sovereignty is not an extension of the 1949 civil war.
“China’s ‘reunification’ slogan,” Mr. Yu wrote Oct. 27, “is a hoax sustained by fear, ideology and deception.”
Beijing’s ire was expressed in an unusually long and detailed rejoinder article that appeared Nov. 20 in the People’s Daily, the official newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party.
The publication accused Mr. Yu of “viciously attacking the mainland’s strategy and policies towards Taiwan.”
By sharing much of Mr. Yu’s original column in its detailed rebuttal, the People’s Daily actually offered its reported 944 million readers a rare honest assessment of the Taiwan issue, Mr. Yu said.
The People’s Daily piece, written by Xin Qiang, a Chinese official at Beijing’s Taiwan Research Center and at Fudan University, sought to refute each of Mr. Yu’s 10 points by citing well-known propaganda and disinformation points the CCP frequently uses.

Campaign Group, Teens Ask High Court to Block Australia’s Social Media Ban for Under-16s
In November 2024, Australia became the first country to pass a law on a social media ban for children under 16 from several platforms.

A campaign group on Nov. 26 brought a legal challenge against Canberra’s social media ban for Australians under 16—set to come into effect on Dec. 10—with two 15-year-olds as plaintiffs.
The Digital Freedom Project (DFP) said in a statement that it, along with Noah Jones and Macy Neyland, had filed proceedings in the High Court in Australia to challenge the ban.
The DFP called the law an “unfair and unreasonable trespass into free speech” that will rob 2.6 million young Australians of their access to the modern, digital town square.
“The basis of the case is [that] this law trespasses on the Constitutional right of freedom of political communication and is therefore unlawful,” the group said.
“Digital Freedom Project asserts that the legislation is grossly excessive, and that the government has not taken any of the multiple other options short of a blanket ban to keep young people safe on social media.”
Jones said in the statement he was “disappointed in a lazy government that blanket bans under-16’s rather than investing in programs to help kids be safe on social media.”

In a move that has to have Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis rending her hair and gnashing her teeth, Georgia Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee has quashed three counts the prosecutor's office filed against former President Donald Trump's co-defendants in the alleged election interference case.
Judge Scott McAfee granted a motion from some of Trump’s co-defendants to quash three counts in the sprawling racketeering indictment brought by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D), finding they “lie beyond this State’s jurisdiction.”
The ruling also hands the former president a sizeable victory, as he faced two of the charges in question.
“President Trump and his legal team in Georgia have prevailed once again,” Steve Sadow, Trump’s lead defense attorney in the case, said in a statement.
The former president and a slew of his allies are accused of attempting to subvert Georgia’s election results to keep Trump in the White House after he lost the 2020 presidential election. Trump has pleaded not guilty.
The ruling also hands the former president a sizeable victory, as he faced two of the charges in question.
