Trump: China Wouldn't Threaten Taiwan Under My Administration

Former President Donald Trump said China would not be threatening Taiwan if he were still in the White House.
Before stepping to the podium at Saturday night’s rally in Iowa, Trump was asked by Newsmax’s John Bachman about Chinese President Xi Jinping’s vow to achieve "reunification" with Taiwan.
"I knew him very well and he never talked about [taking over Taiwan] during my four years, that I can tell you," Trump told Bachman. "And he wouldn’t have talked about it if we were in there right now.
"He sees weakness. He watched the Afghanistan disaster. He looked at what took place there, not even conceivable. Thirteen incredible young warriors, their lives were lost because of incompetence, gross incompetence. Taking the military out first and $85 million worth of equipment — the best in the world — it’s a disgrace."
