VICTOR DAVIS HANSON: From One Unapologetic Media Hoax To The Next

Joe Biden lied repeatedly when he claimed he knew nothing of his son Hunter’s influence-peddling businesses.
The president further prevaricated that he had no involvement in Hunter’s various shake down schemes.
Yet, the media continued to misinform by serially ignoring these facts.
Had journalists just been honest and independent, then-candidate Joe Biden might have lost a presidential debate and even the 2020 election. The public would have learned that Hunter’s business associates and his laptop proved Joe was deeply involved in his son’s illicit businesses.
Later, as the evidence from IRS whistleblowers mounted, the White House stonewalled subpoenaed efforts and sought to craft an outrageous plea deal reduction in Hunter’s legal exposure.
Reporters ignored the Ukrainians who claimed Joe Biden himself talked to them about quid pro quo arrangements.
They again discounted Hunter’s laptop that explicitly demonstrated that Hunter was whining that he had handed over large percentages of his income to his father Joe — variously referred to as the Big Guy and a “ten percent” recipient on many deals.
They played dumb about Joe Biden’s use of pseudonyms and alias email accounts to hide thousands of his communications to Hunter and associates.
They attacked the former Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin, who now claims Biden was likely bribed by Ukrainians.

WATCH: Comer Finally Talks Impeachment and When We Can Expect It

We've been reporting on all the evidence that the House Oversight Committee has been assembling in the probe of Joe Biden and his connections to the family business. The big question has been: when would they take all that evidence and finally move on to the impeachment inquiry?

Chair James Comer (R-KY) has made clear right down the line that he's trying to accumulate as much evidence as he can so when they bring a case that it's irrefutable, it is just about assembling it to that point. It now sounds like Comer thinks they are at that point, based on what he said during an interview on Fox Business.

Comer explained the new revelations about the use of the fake names used in 5400 emails by Joe Biden including one where he's communicating about Ukraine and copying Hunter shortly before the Ukrainian prosecutor was fired. Comer also pointed out the additional new evidence about Hunter Biden riding on Air Force Two at least 15 times with at least some of those trips seeming to involve a business purpose. "The evidence continues to pile in," Comer said.
Comer said, after speaking with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), he was pretty confident that they were going to launch the impeachment inquiry after Labor Day, September 4. He described getting evidence from the Biden administration "like pulling teeth" and said that's been part of why it's taken this long.
"No one in the Biden orbit is cooperating, the government is obstructing," but they've still managed to get the evidence, he said. Comer then said he thinks everyone in the Republican conference thinks they have no choice now but to move toward an impeachment inquiry.

The last of President Donald J. Trump’s 18 co-defendants to be released post-arraignment stepped outside the Fulton County Jail Wednesday morning and told “Bannon's War Room” host Stephen K. Bannon why he thought he was held for five days.

“The state of Georgia, and I'm a black man. I don't know if I can say much more,” said Harrison Floyd, the executive director of Black Voices of Trump.
Bannon asked Floyd about his charges.
“To keep it frank and simple, Fulton County fumbled the coverup, and I am aware of what transpired, and they're trying to put pressure on me and others to make sure that the truth doesn't come out,” he said.
“The truth always has a way of finding its way to the surface, sir, so it's going to be; I'm looking forward to being down here and fighting the devil in Georgia,” he said.
Floyd was released on a $100,000 bond.
