Well, good on ya, Canada. It seems the motto ‘come and take it’ isn’t unique to just Americans. Our neighbors to the north have a new gun law. It’s something that anti-gun liberals want here nationwide. All Canadians that owned firearms that have been included in the nation’s latest ban on so-called assault weapons must turn them over to authorities. Rep. Ted Budd, R-N.C., told Newsmax on Thursday that Russia would not be threatening to invade Ukraine if former President Donald Trump was still in office, attributing reports of their offensive to "weakness in the way that Biden has led."

"What we need is American strength like the way Trump led," said Budd, a candidate for the 2022 U.S. Senate election in North Carolina. "This certainly wouldn't have this problem with the Ukraine and the potential Russian invasion if he was still the president."

Appearing on "American Agenda," Budd told hosts Bob Sellers and Heather Childers that the proposed Nord Stream 2 pipeline was representative of "growing Russian strength."

"They're flexing their muscle like a mother bear that's longing for her cubs," he added.

Chief White House medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci finally acknowledged an important point about Covid-19 case numbers in hospitalized children.

During a segment with MSNBC’s Ayman Mohyeldin on Wednesday, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said that since every child is tested for Covid-19 when they go to the hospital for any reason, they get counted as being there “with Covid" if positive.

This helps explain why there’s been an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases among children.

For two years, Americans have been told to "trust the science" and listen to "the data" on hospitalization and death from Wuhan coronavirus. They were told these were the best metrics to use when planning risk, how to move forward with their lives and that the government was using the numbers to determine a "safe" amount of personal freedom they could allocate to the masses. This data was also used to scare parents into complying with hardcore lockdowns of schools under demands from politically motivated teachers' unions.

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., on Friday criticized the "irrational hysteria" over a surge in coronavirius cases due to the omicron strain.

"Record numbers testing positive for a sore throat isn't a crisis," Rubio tweeted.

"And people in the hospital for car accidents testing positive isn't a surge. The real crisis is the irrational hysteria which has people with no symptoms waiting hours for a test or missing work for 10 days."

His comments come as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported more than 75,900 new cases of COVID-19 in Florida Friday.

Tens of thousands of Russian troops massed on Ukraine’s border have sparked fear of a potentially imminent war in Eastern Europe, while U.S.-China tension simultaneously soars amid warnings from Beijing that America will pay an “unbearable price” for supporting Taiwan.

Those are just two of the many foreign policy headaches facing the Biden administration at the start of 2022.

The full list is much longer: Taliban-controlled Afghanistan is teetering on the brink of collapse amid ongoing tumult from the disastrous U.S. military pullout; hopes for a new Iran nuclear deal are fading fast despite a difficult diplomatic push by America and its European allies; efforts to end North Korea’s nuclear program appear to be at a standstill; and, in Africa, Islamic terrorism is on the rise, prompting concerns the continent could be a breeding ground for attacks on the West.

Science has undergone a radical metamorphosis. People with M.D. or Ph.D. degrees, who have published hundreds of papers in the scientific literature, have suddenly become "anti-science" — as judged by media personalities, politicians, bureaucrats, and fact-checkers. What does this mean? One clue: chief White House medical advisor Anthony Fauci, M.D, said that anyone who attacked him was attacking "science."

Anyone skeptical of the accepted COVID narrative may be called "anti-science."

The articles of faith are that it is an existential threat, and the only solution is universal vaccination and surrender of our freedom to work, assemble, worship, travel, or even go outdoors without the approval of public health authorities.

Dr. Robert Malone, a contributor to mRNA vaccine technology, told Newsmax on Thursday that he is focused on ''telling the truth'' after being booted from Twitter a day before.

Malone, appearing on ''Stinchfield,'' also mentioned that he is actively being fact-checked by Reuters, who he says ''has links'' through ''inboard relationships'' with the vaccine producer Pfizer.

''They went absolutely ballistic that you called the spike proteins that ... these mRNA vaccines produce ... toxic and can cause birth defects. They said, 'It's misinformation. Totally fake news.' What do you say to them?'' host Grant Stinchfield asked the vaccine innovator.

''The data are the data. I'm sorry,'' Malone replied.

Dr. Robert Malone, a scientist who credits himself as the inventor of the mRNA vaccine technology, has warned that vaccines using this new technology carry risks, but those risks have been downplayed due to a media censuring campaign.

This week, Malone said that LinkedIn "shut down" his account. Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft — which owns LinkedIn, has been a prominent proponent of vaccines and even pushed for a program called Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT), "which aims to accelerate the development" and "production" of vaccines.

"The historic record of what I have done," Malone tweeted Wednesday, "stated, figured out (and when) etc. over time is a key part of establishing my credibility and track record as a professional. And that has been erased completely and arbitrarily without warning or explanation."

The last year has pretty much been a dumpster fire, and I’m glad to see it go. God only knows what 2022 holds, but the past year has provided some invaluable lessons we can – and must – use, to wrest control of America from those who would destroy her.

1. On many important issues, the media deliberately lies or disseminates inexcusably false information. Trump did not “collude” with Russia. COVID did not emerge in a wet market. The COVID shots do not prevent anyone from catching or transmitting the virus. Ivermectin is not just veterinary medicine. The border isn’t secure. Higher prices aren’t the result of companies “gouging” customers. Kyle Rittenhouse did not shoot three black men. We did not evacuate all Americans in Afghanistan before the disastrous military pullout. The January 6th mobs at the Capitol last year were not part of an “insurrection.” The Virginia gubernatorial election was not about white supremacy. Parents at school board meetings are not “domestic terrorists.” Joe Biden is not in excellent health. (How many presidents routinely speak from a fake Oval Office?)

The national media is either professionally deceitful or completely incompetent, or both. They cannot be trusted.


2. Sweeping mandates like those proposed by the Biden administration are unconstitutional. The federal government has no right to force people to inject experimental chemicals and gene “therapies” into their bodies. The “science” (if by that we mean accurate information) about the efficacy and risks of these shots is unclear, incomplete and evolving. It is medically, scientifically and ethically untenable to insist upon a one-size-fits-all manner of treatment for 330 million vastly different individuals. Even some of the most ardent advocates for COVID shots are beginning to acknowledge that it is nonsensical and dangerous to keep insisting on more shots every time the virus mutates.

The deep state consists of those parts of the government that do not change in response to elections and are not transparent or answerable to voters.

This generally includes the intelligence and law enforcement communities, the military and diplomatic communities and central bankers. Each has its private sector collaborators.

Its two most notorious members — and the two that tormented former President Donald J. Trump — are intelligence and law enforcement. And the two best known in those communities are the CIA and the FBI.

What's going on is the destruction of personal liberty in America by the very folks we have hired to protect it. CIA and FBI agents have all taken the same oath as I did when I became a judge — to abide by the Constitution. The folks who torture, spy without warrant, and create and participate in criminal behavior have become a law unto themselves as they decide what laws to break, what laws to uphold and whom to permit to get away with lawless behavior.

This will bring us to ruination. Why do we tolerate it?

Nearly 3 in 4 Republicans doubt that President Joe Biden won the 2020 election legitimately, according to a new poll from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

A total of 71% of GOP respondents said Biden's victory was illegitimate, the UMass poll found.

Among those Republican respondents, 25% said Biden's triumph was "probably not legitimate," and 46% said it was "definitely not legitimate," according to the poll.

As the days of 2021 dwindled, so did any remaining traces of democracy in Hong Kong.

On Wednesday, a vocal pro-democracy media outlet -- one of the last openly critical voices in the city -- closed after a police raid. Earlier in December, the opposition was shut out from elections under a new law that puts all candidates to a loyalty test. And monuments commemorating the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 were taken down.

Again and again throughout the year, the city’s authorities and the central government in Beijing stamped out nearly everything the pro-democracy movement had stood for. Activists fled abroad or were locked up under the draconian National Security Law imposed on the city 18 months ago. Unions and other independent organizations closed down.

Is Joe Biden for or against more federal intervention regarding COVID-19? Good luck finding an answer to that question. Two days ago, he publicly stated that it was states, not the federal government, that would provide the solutions to the pandemic. Yet, as quickly as he uttered that obvious truth, he and his handlers rushed to pull the statement back. That culminated yesterday evening in the president proposing a federally imposed domestic travel ban for the unvaccinated.

One step forward, two steps back, every single time for the most unqualified presidential administration in modern history.

That lack of leadership has real-world consequences as well. Take the saga of our media betters at liberal networks like CNN and MSNBC. They are now hoarding medical supplies such as tests and N95 masks despite being triple-vaxxed.

OPINION:


My dad spent most of his working life as a union organizer and served for a decade as president of the Rockford, Illinois, Labor Council.

When he died, he bequeathed me a watch and the brass knuckles he carried during the infamous Kohler Strike in the 1950s. My mother was elected to five terms as president of the Women’s Auxiliary of the United Auto Workers. My older brother was a Teamster and a cop; my younger brother an Auto Worker. We moved to Wisconsin when dad couldn’t get a job in staunchly anti-union Rockford. In 1960, I campaigned on street corners for JFK. We were all Democrats back then because people like us believed the party of Roosevelt and Truman represented our interests.

Republicans were rich bankers and business moguls who could be found at the local country club playing golf. They graduated from Ivy League universities and looked down on hyphenated Americans and anybody who worked with their hands. My dad made me promise never to take up golf. It was the way it was. But no longer.

OPINION:


It’s the time of year when we ask ourselves what we are grateful for, what we got wrong and what we got right after being handed 12 fresh, unused months. For all of us, there are painful answers because what we got wrong has created humanitarian disasters here at home and abroad. What we are getting right is recognizing that we were bamboozled by a political establishment that remains focused on keeping us dazed and confused.

2022 is upon us. The political catastrophe of the 2020 presidential election and the resulting collapse of a coherent COVID-19 strategy have brought a great deal of self-reflection for all of us. We have learned the hard and deadly way that elections and leadership really do matter. The quality of our lives can change on a dime depending on the capabilities and intent of the people who hold the cards.

For Americans of all stripes, after believing it held such promise, 2021 ended up being another annus horribilis. But make no mistake: There are many things to be grateful for in 2021 that were realized from 2016-2020. No doubt to the rage and frustration of the feckless Democrats, we can be grateful that the policies and actions of former President Donald Trump were so strong and consequential they have kept the 2021 disaster from becoming our complete undoing.

American presidents, from time to time, face difficult first years. None more so than President Abraham Lincoln when he was greeted by the secession of southern states. In the modern television era, in his first year, President John Kennedy endured the Bay of Pigs debacle and then, Nikita Khrushchev's browbeating of JFK at their Vienna summit, which Kennedy termed "worst thing in my life. He savaged me."

So how does Biden's first year compare and what criteria should be used to determine the success of the first year of the president?

Should it be based on popularity ratings? The state of the economy? Foreign policy achievements? Legislative accomplishments? Law and order? Handling a crisis? Domestic unity?

Overall, it is hard but to conclude that Biden is in trouble on all the major issues of the day at the end of his first year in office. No president in the modern era has found himself troubled to this degree and most of it is his own doing.

The question for 2022 is whether Biden can reverse his fate. The public, obviously, doesn't think he can.

Aaron Rodgers, the star quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, decried the appeal to authority on the "Pat McAfee Show," those who say science shouldn't be questioned, equating that fallacy to propaganda.
