The Panama Papers: Where Australia beats the world

The release of a searchable database for the Panama Papers on Tuesday has triggered a global hunt for clients of Panama law firm Mossack Fonseca, highlighting one area where Australia tops the world.

It may be filed under the heading "Look, We Have No Lawyers". We're also pretty short on accountants.

Australia has the world's smallest number of Mossack Fonseca intermediaries. No one here wants to be a MossFon middle man.

The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists opened the data base, based on material obtained by German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, which allowed searches of more than 200,000 companies and shareholders set up in 21 tax havens around the world.

Search the Panama Papers in wide screen.
