Trump says no one should feel bad for Biden’s debate backlash

Former President Donald Trump said he doesn’t feel bad for the backlash President Biden is receiving after his poor debate performance last month, because the president is a “bad guy.”
“You know, somebody told me, ’I feel sorry for him because at the debate he was so pathetic,” Mr. Trump said on Fox News’ “Brian Kilmeade Show” on Wednesday. “They said, ’I feel sorry for him.’ I said, ’Don’t feel sorry for him. He’s a bad guy. He’s absolutely a bad guy. And he’s destroyed this country, has absolutely destroyed this country.’ So I said, ’Don’t feel badly for him.’”
Mr. Biden’s shaky debate performance sparked fear and panic among Democrats about whether he needs to be replaced. Since then, a growing number of calls have been made for him to step aside and let someone else be on the party’s ticket.
But Mr. Biden has vowed that he is not dropping out of the race. He said Monday that he “wouldn’t be running again if I did not absolutely believe I was the best person to beat Donald Trump in 2024.”
On Tuesday, Mr. Trump called on Mr. Biden to participate in another debate this week so “’Sleepy’ Joe Biden can prove to everyone all over the world that he has what it takes to be president.”
