NYC Council Candidate to Newsmax: Republicans Will Be a Firewall Against Mamdani

By Jim Mishler | Monday, 30 June 2025 12:43 PM EDT

Republican New York City Council candidate Alina Bonsell told Newsmax on Monday that New York City voters need to elect Republicans who can be a "firewall" against democratic socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.

Bonsell told Newsmax's "
National Report" that "we have overall only six Republicans in office of the 51 council members. Every seat is up for reelection this November. This election is so important because this is the only firewall that you have against Mamdani."

She said she opposes many of the platform promises made by Mamdani, projected to be the winner of the New York Democrat primary for the mayor's position.

World Heath Organization fails to find COVID origin in latest probe

China continues to block vital information on early cases

By Bill Gertz - The Washington Times - Monday, June 30, 2025

The World Health Organization said in a 78-page report released last week that it cannot pinpoint the cause of the COVID-19 outbreak in Wuhan, China, five years ago — in part because of a lack of cooperation on the part of Chinese officials.

Despite three official
WHO visits to China, Beijing refused requests for key data that investigators sought for clues to the global pandemic that officially killed 7 million people and which, according to the report, is more likely to have caused at least 20 million deaths since late 2019.

The
WHO’s Scientific Advisory Group for the Origins of Novel Pathogens, known as SAGO, has been searching for the COVID origin since its formation in November 2021.

Its most recent report concluded that the cause is “inconclusive.”

The SAGO is made up of 27 international scientific experts, and all but three signed the report.

Three scientists from
China, Russia and Cambodia declined to be listed as authors, the report said.

“This is not solely a scientific endeavor, it is a moral and ethical imperative,” the report said.

“Understanding the origins of SARS-CoV-2 and how it sparked a pandemic is needed to help prevent future pandemics, save lives and livelihoods, and reduce global suffering. Ultimately, this pursuit underscores our collective responsibility to safeguard human health and well-being.”

The world should celebrate America’s birthday

We've been a blessing to humanity for more than two centuries

July 4, Independence Day and the United States of America illustration by Alexander Hunter/The Washington Times more >

COMMENTARY

By Don Feder - Sunday, June 29, 2025

OPINION:

On July 4, America will be 249 years old. Our friends abroad should join patriots at home in celebrating the miracle that is the United States of America.

In the course of history, a quarter of a millennium may seem like the blink of an eye, but think of what we have accomplished in that brief span of time.

We fought and defeated what was then the greatest empire on earth to win our independence. We adopted a constitution that is a model of self-government.

We fought Mexico in 1846 and gained a half-million square miles of land in the process. This followed the acquisition of the Northwest Territory and the Louisiana Purchase. By the middle of the 19th century, what started as 13 colonies clinging to the Eastern Seaboard stretched from the Atlantic to the Pacific.

We fought a civil war to settle the issue of slavery and save the union.

In World War II, we saved humanity from the horrors of Nazism and Japanese imperialism. We stopped the advance of communism in Europe, Asia and the Americas, though we are still fighting a cold war against China and Russia.

Since Sept. 11, 2001, we have fought rogue regimes and terrorist states in the Middle East. We just saved the world from a nuclear war. You’re welcome, world.

Harvard University and the Trump administration have been at war for months over allegations that the institution, which has become a hot bed for antisemitism and pro-Hamas propaganda, arguably becoming a training camp for radical Islamic terrorists, did not fully protect the rights of its student body when these far-left hooligans took over campus last year.

The school was part of a nationwide kerfuffle, as numerous colleges caved or coddled pro-Hamas students who spewed vile antisemitic rhetoric at classmates. Trump threatened to cut federal grants to Harvard, now the government has cause to further its case to cut funding over the latest civil rights finding (via

Trump: Not Offering Iran 'Anything,' Not Speaking to Tehran

President Donald Trump said Monday he was not speaking to Iran and was not offering the country "anything," and he reiterated his assertion the United States had "totally obliterated" Tehran's nuclear facilities.

"Tell phony Democrat Senator Chris Coons that I am not offering Iran anything, unlike Obama, who paid them $Billions under the stupid 'road to a Nuclear Weapon' JCPOA (which would now be expired!), nor am I even talking to them since we totally obliterated their nuclear facilities,"
Trump wrote in a Truth Social post

Trump on Friday dismissed media reports that said his administration had discussed possibly helping Iran access as much as $30 billion to build a civilian-energy-producing nuclear program.

Donald Trump has consistently pleaded with Jerome Powell to lower interest rates, which the Federal Reserve Chairman has steadfastly refused to do since the president took office. The Reserve Board announced earlier this month that it was once again keeping rates right where they’ve been since December ’24. They next meet in July.

Powell claims that the decision was made over concerns about possible inflation from Trump’s tariffs. The problem with his argument is that inflation
has come way down from its Biden-era highs.

Trump has blasted the chairman in interviews, speeches and press briefings, but nothing seems to work. So why not try a handwritten note? That’s exactly what the president did Monday in a Truth Social post:

Canada Rescinds Digital Services Tax After Trump Halts Trade Talks

President Donald Trump said on June 27 that he was ending all trade negotiations with Canada over Canada’s digital services tax.

The Canadian government is rescinding its digital services tax to avoid stalling trade talks with the United States, two days after U.S. President Donald Trump announced he would end negotiations over the levy.

Ottawa says that removing the tax will put Canada back on track to reach a trade deal with the United States by July 21.

Trump
said on June 27 that he is ending all trade negotiations with Canada over Canada’s digital services tax (DST), which would impact U.S.-based tech companies such as Amazon, Google, and Netflix. “In our negotiations on a new economic and security relationship between Canada and the United States, Canada’s new government will always be guided by the overall contribution of any possible agreement to the best interests of Canadian workers and businesses,” Prime Minister Mark Carney said in a statement after announcing the removal of the tax on June 29.

“Today’s announcement will support a resumption of negotiations toward the July 21, 2025, timeline set out at this month’s G7 Leaders’ Summit in Kananaskis.” During the G7 summit in Kananaskis, Alberta, on June 16, Carney and Trump agreed to reach a trade deal within 30 days.

Sen. Mullin to Newsmax: Time to Approve Megabill

By Sandy Fitzgerald | Sunday, 29 June 2025 01:59 PM EDT

Senate Republicans always expected a "very spirited debate" over the massive tax-and-spending bill championed by President Donald Trump, but "we always knew we'd get it done," and it's time for the party to approve it, Sen. Markwayne Mullin told Newsmax.

"We have a bunch of senators here from different states that have different ideas, and that's why we've had over 51 full conference meetings on this one big, beautiful bill," the Oklahoma Republican said on Newsmax's
"Sunday Report." "We've had literally hundreds of individual meetings, meaning that inside committees that have jurisdiction over this."

And now that lawmakers voted to proceed, they'll move into the amendment process, which isn't part of the hourslong reading of the bill, he said.

"What we are going to do now is take this, once the bill comes to the floor for amendments for the 'vote-a-rama,' we'll give it back to the House," Mullin said. "As the president said quite publicly already, he's excited about this movement. We're moving forward with the president's agenda, which is why the American people voted for us in November."

Electing a "pure communist" mayor like Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani could put New York City's federal funding on the ropes, according to President Donald Trump.

"He's a communist," Trump told
Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures." "I think it's very bad for New York.

"I don't know that he's going to get in. It's inconceivable.

"But let's say this: If he does get in, I'm going to be president, and he's going to have to do the right thing or they're not getting any money."

Mamdani won the Democrat mayoral primary this week over former Democrat Gov. Andrew Cuomo, but sitting Democrat Mayor Eric Adams will run for reelection as an independent and
potentially Cuomo, too

The federal funding warning applies to all of the mayoral candidates, according to Trump.

Trade discussions between Canada and the United States will end “until such time as they drop certain taxes,” U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview broadcast, repeating his position after Prime Minister Mark Carney said the Canadian government would continue dialogue.

Trump’s comment was made during an interview on the Fox News “Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo” program on June 29.

The U.S. president in a Truth Social post on June 27 announced he was
ending all trade negotiations with Canada, saying that Canada’s plan to impose a Digital Services Tax (DST) would impact U.S. tech companies.

“Based on this egregious Tax, we are hereby terminating all discussions on trade with Canada, effective immediately,” Trump said. “We will let Canada know the Tariff that they will be paying to do business with the United States of America within the next seven day period.”

Trump said Canada was “obviously copying” the European Union, which imposes the same tax, and added that Canada has been a “very difficult country” to trade with.

Carney’s office, in a June 27 statement to media, said in response that the Canadian government will continue to “engage in these complex negotiations with the United States in the best interests of Canadian workers and businesses.”

There has been much discussion and conflicting opinions on how much damage the U.S. “Operation Midnight Hammer” strikes did to Iran’s nuclear facilities, especially the underground site Fordow. President Trump and his team claim that the 14 bunker-busting bombs destroyed the place and left it inoperable, while the mainstream media has been working aggressively to say the attacks only set Iran’s nuclear dreams back by a few months.

Now there is fresh evidence that the late-night B-2 stealth bomber-led strikes caused plenty of destruction, and the Iranians are already trying to clean it up:

Trump Calls Musk 'Wonderful Guy,' Downplays Disagreement Over OBBB

By Ward Clark | 6:50 PM on June 29, 2025

The opinions expressed by contributors are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of RedState.com.

Pool via AP

There have been more than a few barrels of virtual ink spilled over the supposed falling-out between President Trump and DOGE creator Elon Musk. The primary source of that disagreement is over the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) that is currently making its way through the Senate's sausage factory, and about which we can hope to hear more before the Independence Day weekend - but that mill sometimes grinds more slowly than we would like.

On Sunday, though, President Trump, speaking with Fox Business's Maria Bartiromo, the president had some words of praise for the tech billionaire -
some qualified words of praise, that is

President Donald Trump praised wayward wingman Elon Musk on Sunday, despite the Tesla founder's renewed criticism of the president's "big, beautiful bill."

Trump called Musk a "wonderful guy" in an interview with Fox News' Maria Bartiromo, though he did say Musk's behavior after their split, which included a since-deleted tweet connecting Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, was "not appropriate."

"Have you spoken to Elon Musk? What happened there?" Bartiromo asked.

"I think he's a wonderful guy. I haven't spoken to him much, but I think Elon is a wonderful guy, and I know he's going to do well always," Trump responded. "He's a smart guy. And he actually went and campaigned with me and this and that. But he got a little bit upset, and that wasn't appropriate."

This supposed falling out may be making a mountain out of a molehill. In 1931, the American chewing gum model William Wrigley Jr., speaking to "The American Magazine," said

Business is built by men who care—care enough to disagree, fight it out to a finish, get facts. When two men always agree, one of them is unnecessary.

The gum king was talking business, not politics, but the quote applies nonetheless. Elon Musk's creation of DOGE shows he's committed to actually reducing the size and scope of government, which is a priority of President Trump's, as well. Of course, most of the DOGE's findings have not yet been enshrined in legislation, which will have to happen. But the greatest of journeys, to use another famous old saying, begins with a single step. The DOGE has identified a lot of government waste and, frankly, just plain stupidity, and every finding is a tumor that will have to be cut out by Congress.

OK, now I'm done mixing metaphors.

See Also: Why the One Big Beautiful Bill Must Pass—Despite Its Ugly Parts

Trump Praises Republicans Who Helped Get the One Big, Beautiful Bill Over the Finish Line

In one form or another, the OBBB is probably going to happen. I'm not a hundred percent happy with progress myself; the striking of firearms suppressors and short-barreled rifles/shotguns from the NFA list, as of this writing, seems to have fallen by the wayside, and I was looking forward to the resurrection of the Marble's Game-Getter in some modern form. But there's an argument being made here for denying the perfect the chance to scuttle the good. Is the OBBB perfect? No. Is it worth doing? Yes. The alternative is the status quo. That's the hand we are dealt. (And there I go with the metaphors again.)

President Trump also offered a possible
reason for Musk's discomfiture

"Why did he get upset? He just wasn't getting what he wanted?" Bartiromo pressed.

"Look, the electric vehicle mandate, the EV mandate, is a tough thing for him. I would, you know, I don't want everybody to have to have an electric car," Trump explained.

I suspect there's more to it than that. Musk may have any number of reasons to object to the bill. Many people object to it for one reason or another. Alaska's own Princess Lisa Murkowski offered objections until she was (very likely) appeased by a waiver for Alaska's SNAP program. There is no doubt that many more deals like that are being made in the Senate right now, as I write these words.

This is politics. It's never perfect. It's often only barely acceptable. But consider this: Before people get too upset at the OBBB being imperfect, reflect on what legislation would have been emerging from the Harris administration, should this last election have gone the other way.

Politics is the art of the possible. President Trump seems to get this. Mr. Musk would do well to remember it as well.

After hours of waiting and Vice President JD Vance convening with GOP holdouts on the Senate floor, President Donald Trump’s "One Big Beautiful Bill" cleared a procedural vote hurdle in the Senate late Saturday night, moving the legislation, which includes historic tax relief, border enforcement measures, and pro-growth economic reforms, forward for debate. Trump praised Republicans for their resolve and blasted Democrats for trying to obstruct what he called “a bill that delivers real results for real Americans.”

If the Senate officially passes the legislation in the coming days and sends it back to the House, the hope is that Trump will sign the bill into law on July 2, just in time for the July 4 deadline.

President Trump praised the hurdle that the OBBB needed to overcome, giving special praise to Republican Sens. Rick Scott (FL), Mike Lee (UT), Ron Johnson (WI), and Cynthia Lummis (WY) for their key votes. He thanked all GOP senators who supported the bill, calling them true patriots. Trump added that he's proud to work with them to grow the economy, cut wasteful spending, secure the border, support the military and veterans, protect Medicaid for those in need, and defend the Second Amendment.

Iran’s Top Diplomat Concedes ‘Serious’ Damage to Nuclear Site

The statement from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi appears to contradict a comment made by Iran’s top leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, a day earlier.

A top Iranian official conceded Thursday that U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, on the night of June 21 and into June 22, did significant damage. This comes after Iran’s top leader signaled otherwise earlier this week.

Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, told Iranian state television on Thursday that the country is still surveying damages and losses that were incurred in the U.S. strikes, which targeted three nuclear facilities that officials say were being used to enrich uranium. The facilities were Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

“I must say that the damage is excessive and serious,” he said of the targeted Iranian nuclear facilities, according to an English translation. He did not provide specific details on what was damaged in the strikes.

Araghchi added that Iran had not yet decided whether to allow International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors to assess the damage, but they would be kept out of the facilities for now.

Earlier in the week, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei told Al Jazeera television that “our nuclear installations have been badly damaged, that’s for sure.” He did not go into detail about what kind of damage was incurred.

The statement from Araghchi appears to
contradict a comment made by Iran’s top leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, a day earlier, when he said on state-run media that the United States effectively failed in its mission to degrade Iran’s nuclear program.

It’s a scorching Saturday where I’m sitting, and I can tell you what I do not want to do: read about Jeff Bezos’ wedding or the half-naked “celebrities” in attendance preening for the cameras. Meanwhile, it looks like there’s still a long way to go on the Big, Beautiful Bill and a vote is not expected for at least the next day or two (or more).

So I thought I’d bring you a bad/good story. It starts out bad, but ends up (mostly) good, and it features the favorite animal of many folks: doggies.

I’ve written about an amazing breed called the Belgian Malinois in the past—one of the
best military dogs in the world, used by both the U.S. Army and the IDF—but unfortunately, in this case an apparently completely insane guy in Queens, New York, kept 48 of them prisoner in his cramped, disgusting apartment. They were starving, scared and completely neglected:

Animal welfare officials, alongside the NYPD’s Emergency Services Unit, responded to Isaac Yadgarov’s seventh-floor Forest Hills apartment on May 8 and found a disturbing scene — dozens of dogs, ranging from 3 weeks to 3 years old, crammed into a foul-smelling, urine- and feces-covered unit, prosecutors said.

Some were stuffed into closets and cupboards with no access to fresh air or sunlight.

Three were in such poor condition they had to be euthanized.

That was the bad part. Here comes the good:

After weeks of socialization, medical care and puppy-safe training, however, Rivington and the other pups have grown, healed and learned to trust, Maso said.

Five are now “thriving” and officially up for adoption at the ASPCA’s Manhattan facility, while the other nine have already been adopted.

One wonders why Democrats and radical Leftists hate our country so much.

Under Joe Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas, millions of illegal aliens were enticed and permitted to enter our country. Once here, millions were released into the country without vetting and without authorities keeping track of them. And, as it turns out, many of them, perhaps more than one million of them, have criminal records, are accused of crimes (other than the crime of illegally entering the country), are gang members, or are affiliated with foreign terrorist organizations.

President Trump has effectively secured our border, as he promised. Last month, according to Department of Homeland Security, there were no releases into the country. With their desire to flood the nation with illegal aliens, Biden and Mayorkas would have thought that was a disappointment.

With the border largely secure, President Trump is attempting to carry out another key component of his campaign pledge to secure the border by finding illegal aliens and sending them back to their homes. But an interesting thing has happened. Democrats, Leftists, and sanctuary mayors and governors are attempting to block enforcement of the law.

And mind you, this isn’t just some “peaceful protests.” What is happening is a violent attack on the rule of law in an attempt to overthrow the law. Yes, you might call it an insurrection.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have been attacked relentlessly since President Trump was sworn into office. There has been an increase in attacks on ICE officers by more than 500%.

Think about that. Democrats, Leftists, big city mayors, and blue state governors are supporting attacks on federal officials who are charged with enforcing the law. Why, do you suppose, do these anti-American officials condone and, in some cases, encourage attacks on ICE agents?

Well, these are the same people who championed open borders, promised sanctuary from law enforcement, and provided other inducements and incentives to enter the United States illegally. They must have a reason.

When President Donald Trump first entered office in 2017, he proposed a radical idea: NATO members should be held accountable to the alliance and pay the two percent in defense spending they agreed to.

"The NATO of the future must include a great focus on terrorism and immigration, as well as threats from Russia and on NATO’s eastern and southern borders. These grave security concerns are the same reason that I have been very, very direct with Secretary Stoltenberg and members of the Alliance in saying that NATO members must finally contribute their fair share and meet their financial obligations, for 23 of the 28 member nations are still not paying what they should be paying and what they’re supposed to be paying for their defense," Trump said during a speech at NATO in 2017.

"This is not fair to the people and taxpayers of the United States. And many of these nations owe massive amounts of money from past years and not paying in those past years. Over the last eight years, the United States spent more on defense than all other NATO countries combined," he continued. "We should recognize that with these chronic underpayments and growing threats, even 2 percent of GDP is insufficient to close the gaps in modernizing, readiness, and the size of forces. We have to make up for the many years lost. Two percent is the bare minimum for confronting today’s very real and very vicious threats."

The demand was met with breathless pearl-clutching from the media. Many European leaders panicked about how they would reprioritize their budgets, heavily bogged down by social programs, to meet the demand. Trump was accused of trying to destroy the alliance, when in reality, he was giving America’s allies across the Atlantic some much-needed tough love and constructive criticism.

Now it’s 2025, Trump is back, and after just five months in office, has secured a five percent defense spending commitment from 32 of 33 NATO partners.

COMMENTARY_ The Supreme Court reminds America parents are in charge

THE WASHINGTON TIMES

The Supreme Court reminds America parents are in charge

The government doesn't own children

COMMENTARY

By Jorge Martinez and Scarlett Johnson - Friday, June 27, 2025

OPINION:

The Supreme Court’s ruling in the Mahmoud v. Taylor case is more than a legal win. It is a generational victory for American families. In siding with parents over school administrators in Montgomery County, Maryland, the court reaffirmed a foundational truth: The state does not raise children; parents do.

At issue in the case was a school district’s decision to strip parents of the right to opt their young children out of sexually explicit instructional material. The curriculum, introduced to kindergarten and elementary school students, contained content that many families found deeply objectionable on moral and religious grounds. But when parents objected, they were denied any recourse and told instead to stand down.

The
Supreme Court just provided parents in Democrat-controlled states a get-your-kids-out-of-woke-indoctrination hall pass. Its decision put an end to that abuse of power. It upheld what the Constitution has always protected: the right of parents to direct the upbringing and education of their children, free from government interference.

The case was personal for many, including Moms for Liberty member Rosalind Hanson, a brave mother and petitioner who stood up for her child and every family facing similar overreach. Moms for Liberty CEO and co-founder Tina Descovich responded with clarity: “We do not co-parent with the government — and we are winning.”

This is not an isolated incident. Across the country, school districts backed by activist unions and unchecked bureaucracies have attempted to force controversial ideologies into classrooms while locking parents out of the conversation. These policies are not only misguided, but they also are unconstitutional.

Iranian Regime Also Fighting Against Inside Enemies

By Sandy Fitzgerald | Saturday, 28 June 2025 12:32 PM EDT

In addition to fighting Israel, Iranian authorities are also waging war against suspected spies and infiltrators, asking citizens to report anyone they consider suspicious.

This includes alerting authorities if they see people wearing sunglasses at night, wearing hats, reporting stolen license plates, seeing pick-up trucks with covered beds, or observing vans being driven about during odd hours, which the regime says could be signs of undercover enemies to the nation, reported
The New York Times

In the weeks since Israel launched its attacks on Iran earlier this month, Iran has arrested hundreds of people, who are quickly tried and often executed. The regime has also pushed forward a law that broadens the use of the death penalty for anyone who is convicted of espionage.

The crackdowns are leading some in Iran to believe the government's efforts will lead to attacks on political opponents as well.

China’s Economy Spirals With No End in Sight, Says Kyle Bass

Bass says Washington wields a ’trump card' that should serve as a deterrent against a Chinese attack on Taiwan.

Communist China is grappling with the most severe economic crisis in its history, a downturn that the regime will not recover from, according to Kyle Bass, founder and chief investment officer of Hayman Capital Management.

“There is nothing that is going to bail China out of their economic spiral. They’re having a real estate crisis, a banking crisis, a youth unemployment crisis, and now they need to be worried about their current account,” Bass said in an interview on EpochTV’s “
American Thought Leaders” that aired on June 26.

Bass said U.S. tariffs and declining trade threaten China’s economic advantage, which is its trade surplus with the United States.

China’s exports to the United States plunged by 35 percent in May compared to a year earlier, according to Chinese customs data.

“China’s once bright spot is now in question,” Bass said. “I actually am surprised it’s not down more.”

China has also been hit hard by capital flight.

Senate Hearing Highlights Alleged CCP Links in Funding Climate-Related Lawsuits

Sen. Ted Cruz says the CCP has funneled $12 million to U.S. climate groups since 2020 via a San Francisco nonprofit.

Congress must streamline federal environmental regulations and preempt state laws, or the nation’s energy producers will continue to be handicapped by climate-related litigation often sponsored by foreign financiers, including—some alleged in a recent Senate hearing—by the Chinese Communist Party.

Acknowledging he’s a “strong opponent” of preemption—when a higher level of government precludes, or “preempts,” actions by those below—Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach said the matrix of federal, state, and local environmental legislation adopted since the 1970s is ripe for litigative exploitation.

“Congress should preempt state laws, and courts should read between the lines of congressional statutes to find preemption,” Kobach said during a
June 25 hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Federal Courts, Oversight, Agency Action and Federal Rights Subcommittee.

A driving Trump administration theme is trimming federal laws to make compliance less costly, time-consuming, and confusing. Whittling back the realm of statutory superfluity in often-redundant federal, state, and local regulations related to the environment and energy production is among its primary aims.

Kobach called on senators to go beyond deregulation “so that we have a uniform national policy.”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said there’s urgency in doing so because entities associated with China are allegedly taking advantage of the nation’s courts to subsidize “the left’s lawfare against American energy dominance.”

“We’re witnessing a systematic campaign against American energy, a coordinated assault by the radical left backed and paid for by the Chinese Communist Party, to seize control of our courts, to weaponize litigation against U.S. energy producers, all to undermine American energy dominance,” he said.

Cruz outlined a “three-pronged assault” spearheaded by “dark money entities tied to the Chinese Communist Party” that pay “activist lawyers to flood our courts with lawsuits” and influence campaigns.

Even more insidious, he said, is the Union of Concerned Scientists’ seminars for judges that have “quietly captured and brainwashed the judiciary itself” in “closed-door trainings that indoctrinate judges to adopt the ideological goals of the ‘climate lawfare machine.’”

WASHINGTON EXAMINER

A very consequential two weeks for Donald Trump’s presidency

By Salena Zito June 27, 2025 4:56 pm

When the active duty Air Force and Missouri Air National Guard bomber crews who attacked the Fordow uranium enrichment plant in Iran went to work last Friday, they kissed their loved ones goodbye, not knowing when or if they’d be home. That’s when their families became aware something was happening.

“When those jets returned from Whiteman on Sunday, their families were waiting, flying American flags and shedding tears of pride and relief,” Gen. Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said this week.

The jets rejoined into a formation of four, pitching out to land right over the base — a landing Caine said was greeted by incredible cheers and tears from the families who sacrifice and serve right alongside the pilots.

“One commander told me this is a moment in the lives of our families that they will never forget,” Caine said at a press conference Thursday at the Pentagon. “That, my friends, is what America’s joint force does. We think, we develop, we train, we rehearse, we test, we evaluate every single day. And when the call comes to deliver, we do so.”

It was a moment of consequence, excellence, leadership, and guts.

In the past 12 days, some of the most consequential decisions in American history, those that will affect generations and leave a substantial impact on our culture, economy, and political alignment, have been made either by President Donald Trump or because of him. But they have been largely either downplayed or not fully analyzed in terms of how they all connect.

Most Americans are looking forward to next week's Independence Day celebrations. Not only is it a time to get together with family and friends, but unlike a lot of other holidays, the true meaning of having that extra day off is not lost on us. We are well aware of what our forefathers did to fight for a free and independent nation.

We are also well aware that our brave service men and women are all over the world, ensuring that our freedom endures. For the last few years, many Americans, while always proud to be Americans, have not had a lot of good feelings about the country. But a new survey indicates that that is all changing.

The CASA ruling has been handed down, and rogue judges and unhinged liberals are hardest hit. While it doesn’t address the issue of birthright citizenship per se, it did strike down the national injunction power that district judges have been abusing since the outset of the second Trump presidency.

SCOTUSblog set up the issue:

Whether the Supreme Court should stay the district courts' nationwide preliminary injunctions on the Trump administration’s Jan. 20 executive order ending birthright citizenship except as to the individual plaintiffs and identified members of the organizational plaintiffs or states.

And in a 6-3 ruling, the Court ruled

Universal injunctions likely exceed the equitable authority that Congress has given to federal courts. The Court grants the Government’s applications for a partial stay of the injunctions entered below, but only to the extent that the injunctions are broader than necessary to provide complete relief to each plaintiff with standing to sue.

President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he is ending trade negotiations with Canada after it imposed a tax on U.S. technology companies.

The US and Canada have been working to hammer out a workable trade deal after Trump announced sweeping global tariffs in April.

“We have just been informed that Canada, a very difficult Country to TRADE with, including the fact that they have charged our Farmers as much as 400% Tariffs, for years, on Dairy Products, has just announced that they are putting a Digital Services Tax on our American Technology Companies, which is a direct and blatant attack on our Country,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

The president continued, “Based on this egregious Tax, we are hereby terminating ALL discussions on Trade with Canada, effective immediately. We will let Canada know the Tariff that they will be paying to do business with the United States of America within the next seven day period.”
