Sorry, Democrats: Trump’s not to blame for violent urban unrest — your mayors are

Until a few days ago, Democrats were content to pretend the disorder in American cities didn’t exist.
Now, worried that Joe Biden is on his back foot on the issue, they readily acknowledge the rioting — and blame it on President Trump.
One would think that given the fusillade they unleashed against Trump at their convention, if Democrats truly believed that the president is responsible for Black Lives Matter activists and anarchists attacking cops and burning down buildings, they would have mentioned it at least once.
But no, they didn’t bring it up, in keeping with how progressives have minimized the violence all along as inconvenient to a narrative of courageous young people rising up against systemic racism.
There is no doubt that the president constantly stirs the pot and often acts more the Twitter provocateur than the president. This is an abdication of an important part of his leadership role, but it isn’t him or his allies torching businesses and vandalizing public property.

Australian companies are being warned to factor in the “heightened risk” of doing business with China.
A new Australia Strategic Policy Institute report released on Monday shines a light on the Chinese Communist Party’s “coercive diplomacy” over the past decade and comes as the Asian superpower launches its second investigation into Australian wine in the past fortnight.
The report comes as Australian journalist and broadcaster Cheng Lei has been detained in China, the Federal Government has confirmed.
Experts say there has been a “sharp escalation” of tactics that either threaten action, or use a limited amount, since 2018.

Certainly, America is deeply divided today. But every bit of the horrifying images and footage of burning, looting and violence we see today comes exclusively from Joe Biden’s America.
The carnage in Joe Biden’s America is the result of Democrat mayors and governors unwilling and unable to stand up to the lawless, rioting mob that outwardly claims it is motivated by the very same fevers and political positions that motivate Mr. Biden himself.

The cities facing rioting are "dominated by the Joe Biden Party. The top 10 cities in the country are Democrat. It's Democrat-run cities," Trump said.
The president blamed the rioting on the anti-law enforcement sentiment that its taking place cross the nation.

In a moment surely worthy of inclusion in some future edition of “Profiles in Courage,” Democrats seem to have decided it’s time to take a stand against the violence in American cities.
It has been a while coming. It’s true that Joe Biden has issued the occasional gentle bromide about the importance of nonviolent expression, but the louder message from him and Democratic leaders throughout the summer has been vocal support for the protests, even as they rained mayhem on America’s cities.
Following the latest escalations in Kenosha, Wis., and Portland, Ore., in the past week, Mr. Biden has called on all sides to desist—though it’s notable that he has decided that blame lies with President Trump and not the Democratic officials who have connived at the lawlessness in their cities.
The reason for this sudden assertion of the moral law seems not to be the casualty count or the misery into which so many lives have been plunged, but the verdict from opinion polls and focus groups. The lives of police officers and the hopes and dreams of small-business proprietors are a small matter to the ambitious pol, but nothing pierces his conscience more sharply than an unsettling conversation with a pollster.
To be fair, you can understand the sudden alarm of these Democrats. For most of the past three months a complicit media has done its best to tell the public there was nothing to see here. Over the summer most news coverage of the rioting has evolved through various phases: denial, distraction, misdirection and, finally, justification.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is “panicked and overmatched” by the rioting in Kenosha, Wis., said Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., on Monday.
“He wasn’t going to campaign until next week. He felt the need to come out and issue a mealy-mouthed statement yesterday that didn’t call for Democratic mayors to allow police to enforce the law or Democratic governors to use the national guard where necessary, it simply called for a tough statement,” Cotton told “Fox & Friends.”
Cotton said that that’s the kind of “feckless leadership” former Vice President Biden would offer as president of the United States.
“Not enforcing the law, not using force where necessary to deter this kind of violence, but, simply words on paper.”

Another American city is smoldering because weak politicians failed in their most basic duty: protecting the lives and property of their citizens. Without strong action to restore order and deter criminals, the carnage will spread.
Riots erupted in Kenosha, Wis., last week following the police shooting of Jacob Blake. Police were responding to a domestic incident when they confronted Blake, the subject of a warrant for alleged sexual assault. While resisting arrest, according to police, Blake was shot seven times. His lawyer says he is now paralyzed.
After the shooting, rioters torched half a dozen buildings, including small businesses and a state corrections facility. Kenosha residents emerged the next morning to a hellscape of burned-out cars and looted stores.

They endured this anarchy with little support from the state’s Democratic politicians. To the contrary, these Democrats seemed afraid to upset the media and their party’s radical base, who downplay, excuse and even encourage violence when it serves their cause.

Wisconsin’s Democratic governor, Tony Evers, failed to deploy the National Guard until the first wave of looting and arson had torn through Kenosha. But in the critical hours before the riots began, Evers released an incendiary statement about police “mercilessly" killing Black Americans and the “racism in our state and our country,” presumably without knowing all the facts and circumstances of Blake’s arrest.

You really have to watch the video to see how scary Thursday night turned for Sen. Rand Paul and his companions — surrounded by scores of angry, ignorant goons threatening to kill them.
It was one of several mobs of Black Lives Matter “protesters” that freely roamed the streets of our nation’s capital during and after President Trump’s acceptance speech at the White House, besieging attendees as they left.
One crew surrounded Paul (R-Ky.), along with his wife and two others, as well as two cops — scores of people furiously screaming in their faces, threatening to kill them and demanding Paul say the name Breonna Taylor, the African-American EMT shot by cops in a no-knock raid in Louisville.

You really have to watch the video to see how scary Thursday night turned for Sen. Rand Paul and his companions — surrounded by scores of angry, ignorant goons threatening to kill them.

Paul and his wife are 1,000 percent right in blaming both Democrats, who’ve urged “unrest” in the streets, and the media, who’ve “downplayed” the “shootings, murder, looting and destruction.”
As if to prove that last point, an Associated Press story reported that Paul failed to supply evidence of an attack — even as the story described just that, along with pictures and a link to the video. The New York Times account stressed that the footage didn’t show Paul “physically” attacked.
Idiocy: Anyone encouraging and enabling these incidents is tearing at the very political fabric that holds the nation together. Do they really want to see America blown up?

"I pledged to a bipartisan group of senators that I would look at all of the underlying intelligence surrounding the intelligence community's assessment of Russia's interference and this idea of Trump-Russia collusion," Ratcliffe told "Sunday Morning Futures." "But I'm not going to prejudice John Durham's work in connection with that, so we've had to coordinate with his office about the timing of that. But I'm optimistic that I'll be declassifying additional documents soon."

Former FBI Director James Comey is an “embarrassment to the FBI and has done a lot of damage to the institution,” said Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., on Wednesday.
“If you want to find common ground between Hillary Clinton, and Donald Trump and Lindsey Graham, we all think James Comey was a disaster. So I am going to give him a chance to explain to the country about Crossfire Hurricane -- one of the most corrupt investigations in the history of the FBI,” Graham told “Fox & Friends.”

In response to Comey recently speaking out in the media with a "Face the Nation" appearance and Washington Post op-ed, Graham tweeted Tuesday, "I imagine he [Comey] would gladly accept an invitation from the Senate Judiciary Committee to testify in the coming weeks on #CrossfireHurricane.... @Comey, check your calendar for open Tuesdays/Wednesdays between September 15-30. The invitation is forthcoming."
Graham also reminded that Comey was “rebuked by the FISA court.”
“He signed a warrant against Carter Page in April of 2017. I find it hard to believe that the director of the FBI did not know that in January in March of 2017, the Russian sub source disavowed the reliability of the dossier, which was critical to getting a warrant against Carter Page,” Graham said.
Graham went on to say, “You got a lot to say, James Comey. Come in under oath and say it.”

Yes, crime could be worse and it will be worse as long as left-wing journalists and left-wing politicians make dumb excuses and peddle nonsense instead of confronting the horrific bloodletting.

The contrast between the two conventions could not have been greater. Democrats painted a picture of a country you’d want to flee – a racist hellhole built on oppression, run by Adolf Hitler Jr. just waiting for his chance to seize absolute power. Republicans praised the United States, highlighting uniquely American stories and the only country on the planet in which they could have happened. But behind it all lurks a contrast; truths Democrats hope people never find out about.
The Republican convention was so successful it chased Joe Biden out of his basement, now announcing he will do some public campaign events and maybe even take some questions from reporters. But the success of a pro-American message isn’t the only, nor the biggest, problem facing Democrats. It’s that their protectors in the media are no longer effective in hiding what Democrats in the street are really doing.
For three months, the continual riots, looting, fires, beatings of random people, and the non-stop attempted murder of police officers has gone largely unreported. “Mostly peaceful” became a bigger media catchphrase than “Where’s the beef?” or “That’s what she said” ever were in pop culture.
Now, with the deaths of two Black Lives Matter activists in Kenosha, the public can no longer be fooled. They saw the videos, they saw who the aggressors were. The narrative of an evil white supremacist simply shooting people he didn’t like gave way to the reality of a kid being chased by a mob, then surrendering himself immediately to police. It also didn’t help Democrats’ claim that he was some sort of racist when his “victims” were all white.

Protesters rallied Saturday in some of Europe’s largest cities against government restrictions and safety measures intended to mitigate the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic.
Events held in Berlin and London each attracted well over 10,000 participants, while approximately 200 attended a similar rally in Paris, several regional news outlets reported.
Video from the German capital showed crowds marching while blatantly flouting public safety measures designed to slow the spread of COVID-19, the disease the coronavirus causes.

"The simple reality is that we are seeing more and more chaos and violence under the Trump presidency, and there's no reason to expect that it would get any different or better if he were reelected," said Buttigieg. More than 130 deals between states, territories and foreign governments could be ripped up under new powers to manage threats against Australia’s national interests.
China tops the list of at least 30 countries partnering with governments in Australia, with 48 agreements already existing.
New figures also reveal the Queensland Government has the most deals (31) with foreign governments. South Australia has 29 and NSW and Victoria both 20.
Under the proposed new laws, agreements made by public universities, state and territory governments and local councils will be subject to a new national interest test and put on a public register.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison would not weigh in on specific agreements, including Victoria’s controversial Belt and Road initiative, saying he did not want to prejudice any decisions.
“Where any foreign government seeks to undermine the sovereignty of Australia’s foreign policy by seeking to do deals with sub-national governments, Australia needs to protect itself from that,” he said.

More than 130 deals between states, territories and foreign governments could be ripped up under new powers to manage threats against Australia’s national interests.
China tops the list of at least 30 countries partnering with governments in Australia, with 48 agreements already existing.
New figures also reveal the Queensland Government has the most deals (31) with foreign governments. South Australia has 29 and NSW and Victoria both 20.
Under the proposed new laws, agreements made by public universities, state and territory governments and local councils will be subject to a new national interest test and put on a public register.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison would not weigh in on specific agreements, including Victoria’s controversial Belt and Road initiative, saying he did not want to prejudice any decisions.
“Where any foreign government seeks to undermine the sovereignty of Australia’s foreign policy by seeking to do deals with sub-national governments, Australia needs to protect itself from that,” he said.

It turns out the Chinese Communist Party is bent on permanently locking up much of the Uighur Muslim population of the far-west region of Xinjiang: Satellite images show that Beijing has secretly built 260 high-security concentration camps to hold them.
Many, perhaps all, include a factory in the camp so the prisoners can be forced to labor for the state, as well.
The world has known for years that China is detaining roughly 1 million ethnic Uighurs and other Turkic minorities. But now BuzzFeed News has used satellite analysis to uncover the full apparatus of eternal repression.

Beijing has claimed that the Uighurs represent an Islamic terrorist threat, but the ugly reality is the CCP under President Xi Jinping is bent on crushing any possible resistance or dissent, religious or secular — and laughs at the idea of human rights.

A whopping 9.2 million people tuned in to Fox News from 10 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. ET Thursday to watch President Trump accept his party's renomination for president to close the Republican National Convention.
By contrast, no other network garnered more than 2.6 million viewers. More people tuned into Fox News Thursday night than did CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC and CBS combined. The viewing figures more than double the combined viewership of the two liberal cable news networks, with CNN averaging 2.2 million viewers and MSNBC pulling in 1.9 million viewers.
TRUMP VOWS 'SECURITY' AS HE ACCEPTS GOP NOMINATION
Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum co-anchored Fox News' record-breaking coverage, helping the network finish with an average primetime viewership of 7.8 million during the fourth night of the RNC. That figure is the highest primetime total viewership average for any political party convention in cable news history.

The associate of John McCain who spread anti-Trump dossier claims around Washington post-election planned to leak a story to Washington Post columnist David Ignatius about Paul Manafort, according to court testimony.
Mr. Ignatius wrote the Jan. 12, 2017 column that eventually doomed retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, Mr. Trump’s first and brief national security adviser. The source was an Obama administration official, Mr. Ignatius wrote.
The McCain evidence emerged in July in a London courtroom, where dossier creator Christopher Steele faces a defamation lawsuit from a Russian CEO. Mr. Steele compiled the dossier for the Democratic Party. After Donald Trump won the presidency Mr. Steele provided memo copies to the Republican McCain and his associate David J. Kramer.
