What if, under the bright spotlights of the presidential debate, Hillary Clinton suffers another coughing fit?

The 46 per cent of Americans who don’t believe Hillary Clinton’s explanation of her health wobble at Sunday’s 9/11 event shouldn’t be judged too harshly. Unlike the Democratic candidate herself, the widespread belief that she is dishonest is regularly given fresh legs.
Most recently Mrs Clinton told the FBI she hadn’t realised “C” stood for classified on Department of State communications that she had moved to an unsecure, private server. Even most Democratic voters declined to believe that.
Ever since she boasted about dodging sniper fire during a visit to Bosnia (video proved she hadn’t) or claimed she was “dead broke” after leaving the White House (when her worth ran to millions), Americans have taken everything she says with a pinch of salt.
